Morning Sue, Nick was up during the night with a sick stomach so Jim's going to stay home with him. I'm not sure I can find a 'helper' so I'll have a class of 15 or more four year olds alone. Our lesson is the Good Samaritan so should hold their interest for a while.

Our trees are bursting forth with color! Most are yellow and orange but the maples down the road are purple. It amazes me how we never lose all our leaves. Some hang on until spring when the new buds burst out and then fall. You need to rake many times around here. YIKES!

I was able to say goodbye to my older brother last night. He is moving to Virginia. I told him that I joined this forum, and he wants me to say "Hi" to Dr. Bob. My brother used to be the librarian at Pillsbury College so Dr. Bob knows him.

Hey everybody...just one of those "hit and runs" or "drive-bys" this a.m...waiting while our services start. The pastor, who is my son'n'law, said I could say "howdy" to all my friends whom I miss so dearly. Aaah, it sure feels good to be back on my...oops, his, 'puter.

I am fine...tho' lonely, but the Lord is always with me. I hope to come back to the ol'BB one day, but till then, keep looking up. I love & miss each and every one of you. C~ya [IMG]

BOY HOWDY this is old home week! Welcome, bookworm. Your brother is a dear friend and we pray him great success in his new ministry. Saw Brett and your neice last week at Central Seminary. They will do great in the ministry!

And GRANNY, it is good to see your smiling face. You definitely ought to find a library where you can spend an bit of time each week and type and keep up with things here. We miss you in the games.

On doctor's orders I am staying quarantined inside. Pray each night very sincerely that the Lord might take me home and my heart would be grateful, but His will be done. Then woke up thankful to be alive and He's given a new day. Guess I should have been praying that every night, but until you face illness you sometimes take things for granted.

God bless all this Lord's Day.

Dr. Bob, We NEED you! The Baptist Board needs you! Your children and grandchildren needs you. Don't you be going til the Lord's done with you here!

Hello Granny! Good to know you're doing fine! Possibly you can drop in once a week or so just to let us know you're doing fine.

I had 18 in Sunday School with no helper. Jim stayed home with Nick who seems fine now. He threw up at about 3:30 a.m. but nothing since. He ate breakfast and lunch and is driving Jim crazy trying to wrestle while Jim's trying to watch a football game. He's going to discipleship class at 5:00 - 6:00 because he has a speaking part in a production next Sunday both morning services.

Well Nick remained well all day but he and I both have colds beginning tonight. Nick ate us out of house and home today! Amazing how his tastes range from wanting chocolate one minute, Juicy Juice the next and then asking for dill pickles. LOL. He did VERY well at Puppet Practice. I didn't realize that his part, even tho he has less words than some, is the lead character in a play where he gives all he has to Jesus... even tho it's one penny... a collectible penny. He prays in his part and to hear his sweet voice call out to the Lord apologizing for having so little to give... just touches my heart! He'll do the play for both morning services next week so we have to be at church at 8:00 a.m. Jim and I are working a room for the Fall Festival next week too. It's a fun night but a draining night too! Nick's life is such a testimony against abortion! God has used him to touch so many and he's so well loved by everyone at church. What a blessing he is! A true gift from God!

I wrote out cards to my Cubbies who've been absent and then did cards to all my S/S kids about next week being High Attendance Sunday. The lesson is on the one Leper who returned to thank Jesus. We're going to have some fun games for the kids and cupcakes.

Ty's mom is working Tuesday through Friday this week so I'll only have the fussy brother and sister tomorrow afternoon. Hope the weather is nice!

Well praying for Dr. Bob, Tony, Anna, Shawna, Brent, Lenke, etc. tonight and others who stay on our heart.... May God keep you safe and give you healing sleep tonight!

2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me."

We had a good day today, too. It was Homecoming at church. This church's tradition is more in the style of an "all-day sing". So we sang from 10-12 (we did have a 15 min sermon - and it was great), then we ate, then sang some more. No pm church tonight, so it was nice to be at home. Its hard on the girls to have to sit still so long. They are 2 and 3, but there isnt a nursery on secial occasions (go figure). Their Dad is the pastor and I am the music director, so sometimes its a little difficult. But they are good girls, and I am very proud of them. They sang today, too! They did "He's Still Working (wuhkin')on Me" and "This Little Light of Mine".
Well, I sure hope to hear better news from Dr. Bob soon, and Diane, I hope you and Nick feel better soon!

    Dr. Bob,
Sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling so good. Soon the Lord will come, but until then we have to wait. As Paul says:

Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
--Someday this old body will be redeemed, but not now.

2 Corinthians 5:9 Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him. (ASV)
--Until then we need to make it our aim to be well pleasing to him, whether we be at home (as yourself) or whether we be absent (I wonder if that includes absent-minded) [IMG]

    Will be praying for you.

    Good morning all:

Daughter and three boys from Indiana spent the afternoon here until church time last night. We had a nice visit.

Today is laundry day and general 'catch up' day after the week-end. It is 45º heading for a high of 71º. Indian Summer maybe?

    Off to check other forums...

Got back from my trip to Hershey. Had a great time, but didn't get in till midnight Saturday because of a combination of wrong turns, construction detours, and the fact that it was nighttime, and that in itself gets me confused when driving. Just put out fresh Hershey's cocoa and kisses in the CGCH for all! Enjoy!

Well, you have heard me say that my office has a view of "LOVE" Park in downtown Philly. That view is the hot ticket today. It seems Kerry and Clinton will be having a rally down there shortly. The police choppers are in the air even now. The streets are all blocked off since last night surrounding the square, and will be until tonight. Should be a circus.

Back to my laundry and schooling Nick. Poor Kid's sneezing his head off today. He says he feels fine tho. [IMG]

Boy Howdy. Not a great night, but slept in this morning because it was QUIET.

Why was it quiet? SNOW ON THE GROUND mutes to traffic. Kids aren't laughing and goofing off as they walk to school. Cool and wet. And the leaves that are down are mushy and soft.

Oh, and wife is gone so no laundry starting, banging around in the kitchen, etc etc . .

Good Morning TaterTot and Dr. Bob!

Dr. Bob, I'm sorry you had a bad night. Is the fever breaking? Any news on the spinal tap? Any change for the better? Nick had a hard time falling asleep. He's worried about you dying. He's such a precious boy! Snow!! Just wait til I tell Nick!

TaterTot! I've taken the clothes I haven't worn for a few seasons to a consignment shop hoping to earn money to buy Nick some Christmas presents. So far, I only have $7.00 in my account there. :(
    Hope you do much better.

Nick's outside playing. It's a gorgeous day! It's supposed to hit 82° today but so far only 75° and a wonderful breeze, bright sky, not a sound other than Nick pretending while he plays. God is good!

    WOW! What a B U S Y day!!!

I have been working on one thing and another since I got up this morning and I'm ready for bed!

BRENT'S surgery has been moved up to this Thursday morning.......please pray for him AND the doctors (and a little prayer for me - I don't drive out-of-town OR do hospitals and I will be driving out-of-town and sitting in the hospital for 7-8 hours until I can bring Brent back home).

    Pleasant dreams all!

Hope you sleep well and know that all your friends here will be praying for you both.

    Glad Shawna is much better!

Well 2 1/2 hours later, I'm heading to bed! I do hope you all have a great night with peaceful dreams and wake feeling great!

God is good and takes care of His own!

Pr 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Poor ol' Nick wont be gettin' much of a present for Christmas, huh?? [IMG]
I have only taken one load so far to the consignment shop, but my load was mainly little girls clothes size newborn thru 18 months. I think they'll sell, but I dont even know the percentage I get. It doesnt really matter. I just needed to get rid of the clothes. The store is only taking winter items, and when I took the baby clothes in, a grandma type (yes, some of you know this type!!) wanted to know what I was bringing in. I told her and she said she was really looking for summer clothes in those sizes. (grandkids) So I told her that if she wanted to follow me home, I'd give her 4 boxes of summer clothes. She did, and she paid me $50!! I tried not to take it, but she flat insisted. I feel bad taking the $ b/c we didnt buy most of the clothes (grandma types did). I think my plus size dresses will sell b/c I went there before I lost weight looking for some and they didnt have many. The lady said they went like hotcakes. (Pardon the almost pun). Ok, its getting late and I am getting giddy, so I better head on out. Just got thru mopping with bleach water, so my brain is feeling a little affected. ;)
    Talk to yall later!

    Good morning all:

I just found out yesterday that the surgery was moved up. Shawna can't go because she is still recovering from her own surgery and it is too late for Dale to take off work.

AND, it was supposed to be done at the Doctor's Pavillion (which I am comfortable with). NOW it is being done at a very LARGE hospital and on the 16th floor! (I don't do elevators well either).

I will be listening to Christian tapes and trying to ease Brent's apprehension on the way down and I am taking my crocheting and PLENTY of yarn to stay occupied for the 'waiting' time!

Once I leave, it will be 8-9 hours before I get back home. I have to stay calm, on the outside, for Brent. I am praying for the "peace that passeth understanding" so I can stay calm on the inside too!

I have tried to keep him away from illness so nothing would postpone the surgery. He is awake already this morning! He is having sealants put on his teeth this morning and he's not sure what that is - I think that's why he couldn't sleep. But he woke up with a stuffy nose too! I sure hope he's not coming down with a cold. We BOTH want this surgery behind us!!!

    Cruising,
