Tony, there's a horrible stomach virus around here like Scarlett O. had. People are having to take buckets with them and stay in the bathroom. A number of people (adults) have been hospitalized. One guy at hubbies work too.
Hope you feel better really soon! Don't cough on your monitor! I sure don't want it!
I've been exposed in the last week to bronchitis, strep, a stomach virus, a child with croup and one with a high fever and sinus infection after a bad cold. Another one is coughing like crazy but he's the one on meds for strep. EVERY child I keep is sick. So far, I've only had a temporary sore throat and now a slight tickle or heavy feeling in my upper chest. I think it'll pass quickly tho. My eyes have stopped itching and burning.

Yes. That's very important. We diabetics do not handle infection well. With the "standby," your hospital will already have all the info they need to begin taking care of you should you have to go in. It's a great idea. If you don't go in, then the request just expires.
Drink fluids and get your rest. Keep checking your sugar and don't get too high or too low. God bless. -
IL is under a RED warning for the flu, but I am staying in until Tuesday. I already have a sub to work the corner for me the rest of the week and hubby and Brent will do the papers at 4:00 the next two days.
Once I have Bronchitis, I find I am more susceptible to everything. I'm not taking any chances after that pneumonia laid me low for six weeks this winter! -
I just had a customer call me about fixing a costume for her granddaughter. She said everyone in granddaughter's house had been sick. I told them not to come till Monday and then not if they were sick. I'm not about to take a chance on Bitsy coming down with something right after her tonsillectomy.
Speaking of, we have to get up at 3:30 in the morning and have her at the hospital by 5:30. I may beat Sue up! If we are lucky though we'll have her home by the time school lets out. Then a whole four day weekend with all the kids at home. Should be real fun, where my Valium? ;) -
Hi all,
In Indiana we have two forms of the flu floating around.
One hits the upper respiritory and the other is the stomach flu.
The fever hangs out at 103 and sticks with you for a week. My daughter brought it home and has been miserable for the last four days.
I'm disinfecting EVERYTHING.. What do you think my chances of escape are?
I'm preparing myself for the worst. :( -
I hate the whole calling in process, even when I'm curled up in a ball and sweating like a stuck pig. I made 2 of those calls today and the 2nd wasn't any easier.
-
Might I ask What brought abot the creation of the Common Ground Coffee House?
I'm curious and like reading this message board.
Everyone here is a very close knit bunch. -
Did you click on the state Sue? It'll bring up the affected counties so you can see if yours is bad.
Well it's almost time to leave for church. Hubby's on his way home from Tennessee. He'll just meet us up at church. -
-
Boy, we had 26 Cubbies tonight and they were pretty loud. They sure enjoyed the new Veggie Tale Movie 'The Great Pie War' tho.
My cold is bothering me a little tonight with a little more chest cold sensation. I'm thinking I'll go to bed early with some cold medicine to see if I can fight it off. I usually only get sick once a year and it's usually in March.
Hope everyone who is sick feels MUCH better by tomorrow.
Well, I need to make Nick get in the shower and grab something to eat. I skipped supper. -
I am calling it a night too. Chest is really hurting and it is hard to breathe.
Pleasant dreams all!
§ue (hoping NOT to get up early!) -
I hope you guys feel better soon.
-
Not to be to picky, but those guys are gals. I've ran a fever all day, but are going to try to get a good nights sleep and go to work in the AM.
-
I sure hope germs can't get through the computer!! I have managed to stay well all year except for a minor cold or two. I'd like to keep it that way.
Sue, why did you start the Common Ground Coffee House? I was around but not very 'active' and don't remember. I do enjoy it, though.
Menagerie, will say a prayer for Bitsy and the Doctors, and MOMMY!
Mommyperson, welcome . . .
-
Well, between the headache, wheezing, and coughing, all I did in bed was toss and turn. I might as well be up. I am going to try the recliner though.
MommyPerson and Gayla: Actually, Barnabas started the Coffee House, sometime in 2003. Only back then, it was the Coffee Shop. Someone else had it for a few months and they left the board so Barnabas asked me to take over as
'proprietor'. And the rest, as they say, is history...
If I can't get comfortable in the recliner I will be back.

Thanks for the welcome Gayla and the out of nowhere explaination Gib..
The coffee shop rolled in and parked. I'm glad it's here it's VERY relaxed and enjoyable.
It's tough fighting this virus off. Almost all of our classroom has it ,so I'm planning my escape route, but can't seem to find a clear way around this.
My daughter got hit with it.. hard. Poor thing.
She said the body aches were the worst she's ever had. Sue, Diane and Gib I am lifting you three up in my prayers.
We were told to look for Bronchitis, pnemonia, or strep. That would mark the end of the virus, but the beginning of another problem.
I'm off to disinfect.. -
Wow! Sounds like the flu and respiratory ailments are hitting hard. I've been awake since 12:30am, but Viv made me stay in bed until 2am when she got up. I drank some coffee and ate a little bit of GrapeNuts with her. She's not really feeling all that great either. Hope she can make it through the day. Almost all of her line went home sick yesterday, and a lot of others in the plant are out.
Sue, I'm praying for you to be well.
Gibbers, I'm praying the same for you, too, my brother!
Diane, keep yourself well, sister. I'm praying God will keep you and Jim well.
The rest of you, stay warm and safe.

For all you flu sufferers; I left you a big pot of chicken soup. It's right over there next to the donuts and coffee.
-
Thanks, padre! I could sure use some right now! What a blessing!
-
Good morning all:
Chicken soup sounds good! So does sleep...
I'm not going to list my ailments. Suffice it to say that I feel terrible, had a very small amount of sleep, and will be trying to get a doctor's appointment today.
Pray everyone else is feeling better today.
