Goodness, Dr. Bob, that was quite a storm. Glad to hear that you are okay. Wish we could have just a little of that rain. It has been cloudy and overcast here this afternoon so we are a little cooler...maybe rain will be on the way.

Big storms coming through this part of OK tonight. Supposed to be almost 20 degrees less tomorrow.
Karen -
Here too Karen!
It was 100º yesterday and the high for tomorrow is going to be 77º! Weird weather!
We're also supposed to get 1/2 inch of rain. It is too little too late for the farmers, but it will be welcome anyway...
I have granddaughter (Cassie) here tonight so am going to play games with her and Brent.
I will just say good night now.
Pleasant dreams all!

Tomorrow is to be our last REALLY hot day for a week or so. 95° here today with a 97° heat index and 73% humidity. It WILL drop to the very low 70's tonight so we'll open the house. None of us like air, especially while sleeping! Too stuffy even with the ceiling fans on.
We'll I'm glad I don't have any ironing to do tonight. I'm already sleepy!
Jim got stung by a yellow jacket late yesterday. His wrist is bright red, hot and very swollen. We can't go to the E.R. unless the doctor authorizes it or we have to pay $100. Wonder if I should call the after hours number?
Diane -
Unless Jim can take benedryl, you'd better call the doctor.
-
Thanks Cindi, I called the after hours number and they said a lady doctor would return our call but she hasn't yet.

What's with all the storms? We got hammered about dinner time...trees down all over the place...
Our neighbors pool is full of 85 feet worth of maple tree. We have one tree laying on the roof of the Education Center on the church campus. It's hard to see if there is any damage...
Let me see: new chain on the saw, plenty of gas and oil... I'm all set...see you all on Thursday . -
Oh Padre! Praying all are safe! Things can be repaired or replaced!
Diane -
Padre, will be praying. It's been strange weather all around the country this summer for some odd reason or another.
-
Morning all:
It is a bit cooler this morning...only 75, but very humid. Heat index is still over 80. We're supposed to reach near 90, or so they say. I believe we'll get higher than that. We're supposed to be getting rain and severe thunderstorms sometime today or tonight. It's not going to help the farmers here out much. Many of them are saying their crops are all burned up.
Viv stopped last night and picked up my MRI from the first neurologist so that I could have it on Monday for the one I'm going to see in Nashville. She called me as she was leaving the doc's office. They had tried to give her the file for "Anthony Lamb" along with mine, and insisted that it was the same until she shewed them differently. Boy, and they talk about people losing their identity to theft because of people's carelessness in the banking/credit industry. How about the medical profession? They are so lax in protecting patient information despite HIPPA laws. I've had to reprimand many of these doctors and their office personnel for asking for my Social in public, especially in a packed office.
Sue, I hope Dale is making full recovery and is feeling better. He's in our prayers, as are you and Brent and the rest of your family.
Diane, praying for ya'll, too. Hope that bee sting get's taken care of soon. I used to spray WD-40 or Windex on my bee stings until I could get to the doctor, and would take benedryl tablets or would put the liquid on the sting.
Thankful, maybe you and Ed will have some cooler weather, too and a bit of rain. I've got friends out that way and they said it's been terrible out there.
Ya'll, be good, be kind, be careful, and make it a great day.

Good morning all:
It rained most of the night but has stopped now. It is a cool 65º this morning and our high today is only supposed to be 77º. I can live with that!
Our 'hometown' pharmacy was closed without notice last week and all our prescriptions have been sent to Krogers pharmacy!!! I am going to Wal-Greens today and have them all transferred there.
I am hoping to do some much needed work in the yard since it has cooled off. It has simply been too hot and humid to do it the last couple of weeks.
Cruising,

Good morning, Sue!!!
Your Southern Baptist preaching buddy,
Blackbird -
Good morning blackbird!!!
That is the shortest post I've ever seen you type. -
Sue - I'm with you - never did like Kroger Pharmacy. I love the grocery part, tho. I'm going to miss it now that we're moving to PA.
Diane - What's the latest with Jim's bee sting? -

It rained 3/4 of an inch last night, slow gentle rain that
didn't even make it's appearance known. It is 66-degrees-F
this morning (outside) - looking at 86-degrees-F for a high
(compare to 101). -
Good morning everyone!
Today will be spent chasing loose ends and trying to get them tied up!
Precious has an MRI this evening at 7 so keep her in your prayers. The CT scan showed some lymph nodes in her neck, in the area of her thyroid, were slightly enlarged. This MRI is to hopefully get a better look at those and her thyroid. I'm somewhat concerned about this developement as a google search on thyroid and lymph nodes only turns up one diagnosis and I don't like it. Sometimes the internet is a bad thing.
Too hot to breathe outside today. But I'll have to as I need to fill in some low places where the pool goes so they don't fill up with the rain we're supposed to get tomorrow.
Gotta go get started, see ya! -
It's 82° with a heat index of 90° and 81% humidity! This is our last Wednesday before AWANA registration. Our first actual meeting is 2 weeks.
Jim left as I was getting Ty in and back to bed so I don't know how his hand is but the nurse called to schedule my mammogram for late September (since I have only a few days a week I don't have all the kids, we're shooting for a day that will make it easier) and I told her about never hearing from the doctor. She had me report it to some office manager.
I did talk to Jim and it's still itchy and swollen but hasn't swollen any larger. It's 48 hours now so I'd guess it's as bad as it's going to get. -
Last year I was out on the tractor "bush-clippin'" a pasture for my father-in-law on his farm in Alabama
I ran over a YellowJacket nest and before I could get off the tractor----I was stung 3 times in the left ear and once on my left index finger.
It hurt all night long like Joe Frazier had hid my ear----but it never swole up!!! -
Menagerie Keeper,
I just prayed for Gods will re. Precious, may the MRI reveal the problem and God can guide the doctors to heal her.
God Bless

It actually pooled above Casper (we are at the northern terminus of the Front Range; hence the Oregon Trail went around the Range and over the Divide here) and it was just a small squall line that caused the "hurricane" here.
Then the squall, intensified by the warm moist air, pushed east - tornados in Nebraska and Iowa, heavy rain in Illinois and up the Ohio Valley within 24 hours.
In winter, it would be called an Alberta Clipper that whips snow and blizzard to Minneapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, etc. Today (I am an amateur meteorologist by hobby) the next front is camped over the Ohio Valley and right up through New England. Probably not to intense now (noon in the East) but will get somewhat more severe.
And now, sports with . . .
