Well, it's been an extremely HOT week here. Starting last Friday we were in the 100's. It's been that way all week long with temps over 105 at times. The heat index was a killer, literally. Several people have died here in the area from heat related things. I've been smart enough to stay in for the most part. I did go out yesterday for a bit, and from what I have been told by others I became a bit combative. Guess it was a bad thing to do since two of my meds state clearly that I'm to stay out of direct sunlight as it will make me have heat exhaustion.
I awoke this morning quite ill. Vivian almost stayed home, but, I talked her into going to work. Don't know if that was such a good idea. May have to end up going to the doctors or the ER if the headaches and stuff don't stop soon.
Hope all here has been going well. I've not visited for several days or weeks..
Well, gotta go. It's sleep time, Lord willing. The sleeping pill is starting to kick in.
Be good, Be kind, Be careful

Good morning all,
Glad you made it in, Tony, but sorry to hear about your health problems (yours too, Rob)!
I shut down the central air yesterday - one day too soon! It was SO hot in here last night. I have a small window A/C in the bedroom and Brent had to camp out in there on the floor. It was miserable everyplace else in the house.
It is supposed to be in the low 80's the next few days. It will be a welcome relief.
I went outside last night to pull some weeds and that was a big mistake. I was soaked within 10 minutes and couldn't breathe. I had to come in and take a breathing treatment, head for the shower, and go to bed. I won't be doing THAT again unless the humidity is REAL low.
Time for coffee,
§ue
P.S.
Is everyone coming to the 100th anniversary party for the CGCH? We will be celebrating this evening. BRING FOOD! -
Hello on this day after yesterday, and a glorious day yesterday was. A 6-hour drive can't daunt this old boy, especially when picking up granddaughters. We had absolutely no problems at the borders. I love that drive down through upper NY. There was more traffic than I am used to, but it was still quite casual...no idiots!
I found a solar-powered air conditioner that fits on the window of the car. When the car is parked, it actually keeps the car around 65 f........It only cost $30.00 Cdn.
Cheers,

Morning everybody,
Welcome back Tony! I'll be praying for your health.
Thanks, Sue, Yes it is definitely good to be back in the land of the living. It's been awhile since I'd had a migraine, and I'd forgotten how"fun" they can be.(of course some people call being hit by a truck "fun" too.)
Thanks, MK, that is very good info on migraines, probably the best I've seen(I've bookmarked it so I can come back to it again if I need to.)
Not much going on here today. I've got a call into my Doc to see if I can get in to see him. I had an unpleasant reaction to either my migraine meds, or the two shots the doc gave me yesterday. I never want that reaction again, ever.
Everybody have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone!
Got a house full of cleaning to do today and am testing for my green belt tonight at karate. I'll be in and out.
Tony!! Good to see you back... Stay out of the heat!
Rob, ugg! Cassie can't take some of the stuff they've given her either, because of the side effects. The worst was Stadol. The child couldn't walk straight for two days! Codiene was almost as bad. We now use a combo of toradol and phenergan if she needs a shot. Zomig works nicely for her most of the time.
Sue! You know we are always up for a Party!!!!!!
What kind of food? Do we need to start a list?

MK, my reaction yesterday was in effect a manic reaction. If you don't believe me, just read the Pit Stop for yesterday, and look at my ramblings.
I am so embrassed. Not only did I make an absolute fool of myself in front of who knows how many people, but I could've easily lost someone I could never replace.
I'm going to write an open apology for my actions in the Pit Stop, and pray for the forgiveness of my friends. -
ARGH! Sleepless night and early morning meeting! I'm a mess :tongue3: AND here it is 11 a.m. and I'm just getting to the coffee pot!
When I need a shot, I get topomil. Works like a charm for me but knocks me out.
I got another migraine yesterday and today my face is still numb. I took an imitrex before one of my meetings and the admin kept saying, you don't look happy. well . . . I'm thinking all these storms round here are contributing to mine.
NOW, today, I want to work on organizing school stuff and my current scrapbook. I bought a scrapbooking program last night called Creative Keepsakes, but I've got one all laid out on the pool table (my work table since the kids left home).
I'll check back in with you guys later! -
Hello all!
Now that VBS is over, and my next ministry thing to think about is Fall Festival (Halloween), I don't quite know what to do with myself! Of course there's Christmas....
Anyone have any great VBS stories? -
 No, vbs stories because we were out of town this year.
You could always find a room to paint like I have. :D
Hey Jim, I sure would like a link to that solar powered ac unit if you have one. That would make a great gift for my hubby. -
Here is a site where you can examine how the solar-powered unit works in your car.
http://yhst-1581588199319.stores.yahoo.net/orauve.html
Note: I am not selling or promoting this item. I just think it is a great thing for me so I can take my dogs with me on summer days.
Cheers,
Jim -
Thanks Jim! I didn't know they made such a thing. T's truck gets impossibly hot when it sits for a while. Much, much hotter than my SUV does. This is cheap enough that if it doesn't work we won't have wasted much money.
One more room to clean and I'm done for the day. Then again, I might just already be done for the day. Cleaning critter cages and critters has about worn me out. -
As you could read, it works by drawing the hot air out of the vehicle and bringing fresh air in. The theory is good, and one can leave it in place without jeopardizing the security of the vehicle. I like it so that I can take the dogs in the truck when they want to go,,,and that is all the time regardless of heat.
I am even going to try one in the upstairs bathroom in place of the vent fan...we will have to use the vent fan for showers and such.
Cheers,
Jim -
Hey Now...this could be an answer here....espicially on trips with no A/C & helps to keep the windows up with Agees allergies. I'm gonna have to order one & try it out!!!If it works on the way I'm thinkin...then we'll need two.
Like MK said...one doesn't cost that much!!! Thanks Jim! -
I saw that little air thingy on TV and was telling Ron about it. He didn't think it would work, so now I can tell him I know someone who says it will. Yipeeeeee!
-
Yaaaaaaaay!!!! I survived testing for my green belt in karate. T did too, but I'm more excited that I did! There's a reason. T took karate when he was a teenager, I am extrordinarily uncoordinated! But I survived!!!!!!!
It's Friday night what are ya'll up too?
You know we need to hurry and finish this page of posts cause Sue promised us a party when we reach Coffee House #100. -
congratulations Karate Princess
-

I love this board! This is the only place I can be a reprobate, a martyer and a princess all in one day! -
Wow! You've been busy today!?! Where were you a rebrobate? or at least called a reprobate . . -
Well, ya'll have fun, but just remember....BH will be over in the rocker keepin an eye out....if she ain't snoozin. Me...I ain't been the partying type in years & have to be up at 5:30 to take Agee to work, so I'm going to bed. I'll check in at daybreak & see if anythings broken!!
