I am a collector, mostly of WWI and WWII era rifles.

I am still looking for a deal on a Steyr M1895 and a Carcano M1891. But I want the rifle versions, not the ubiquitous carbines.

 

Well......NJ got guns. Every shooting, every hold up, every drug bust, every rape generally has one in the police reports.

An observation. You may be loading your cases a bit hot.

 

I cannot say that I mistrust the design, but one friend of mine had one blow on him. He also had another that fired on its own when the round would go in to battery. First one was replaced, second sent in to be fixed.

I will not say what I have, but it took a long time before I could make myself buy a plastic pistol. Now I have three. *laugh*

My buddy still has his fathers Walther that he confiscated from the SS. He is real proud of it too. Has the swastika on it & he carry's it into Paterson & Newark. Perfect concealed firearm.

 

I'm looking to buy a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Any thoughts or advice on this one?

I am also torn between the Shield and the M&P Compact. I think I would prefer the greater capacity of the Compact to the thinner frame of the Shield. Thoughts?

 

For carry? Go thin. The best gun is the one you'll wear every day, and though body type and clothing styles factor in, a single stack is generally easier to pack in the waistband.

I usually carry my PF9, my double stack guns come out when winter clothing makes outside tbe waisteband carry easy.
