Some of this board advocate the Constitution Party. Some like myself, who have read their party platform, would not join their party.
This thread is for those to explain why they would NOT join the CP.
(if you blindly follow the CP - just start another thread for info you disagree with)
I only got halfway thue the platform - and that was only skimming. I did see several things I disagree with. But I will start with these two:
1. THE DRAFT. I am not opposed to the draft. Though I prefer the volunteer military, we should never restrict ourselves out of a draft.
2. We opposed to amending Constitution- defining marriage.
The only way to safeguard the institution of marriage is to make an amendment. Further, it should be the responsibility of government (at State level) to regulate marriage.
I have many more, but give me some time.
Anybody else have a REASON for not joining the CP

2) An amendment would run counter to your second statement of having this issue regulated by the states. I am opposed to a federal amendment, leave it to the states. Better yet, let's separate marriage from state all together. -

:BangHead: I would NOT join the CP if I were a "card-carrying" Democrat(that's a socialist for the uninformed:laugh: ) or a "card-carrying" Republican(they have turned out to be power-hungry,money-loving,capitalists:tear: ) for the simple reason that it would mean that I would have to adhere to the US Constitution rather than just give it lip service on inauguration day. It would mean that I couldn't participate in illegal foreign interventions, nor illegally tax the citizens out of nearly 40% of their hard-earned income to finance my porkbarrel programs and government entitlements(unjust giveaways),(not to mention never-ending foreign wars). It would mean I would have to endorse and put into practice SMALL GOVERNMENT that truly IS of and for the people......and THIS is just the tip of the iceberg! I think most folks are fed up....it might truly be time for a real Constitutional REVOLUTION..IF it's not already too LATE! We need to take our country back before these "status-quo" politicians and their entrenched cronies in the Congress and the Senate finish off this once great nation with their GREED,Stupidity and Globalist mentality. We better PRAY HARD on our faces before God because our sins are beginning to find us out! Unless God is merciful this country is nearly DONE. The big problem is what it always has been....SIN. I will vote CP....but all the CP's in the world can't stop God's judgement of the sin's of this nation and it's people. God help us and give this people repentant hearts that seek Him.:praying:

I won't join any political party but I will support those who'll "protect and defend the U.S. Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic." That pretty much limits my choices to libertarians and constitutionalists as there is only one party in power in Washington these days...the republicrat globalist party that in my opinion is a domestic enemy to the U.S. Constitution and the biggest threat to our liberties.

No Longer Viable
The two main parties are NO LONGER VIABLE nor in touch with the majority of their constituents. The mainstream media has their own agenda which is why you cannot trust what you see and hear to be objective or honest. They willingly marginalize good men like Ron Paul and give little or no coverage to ANY of the third party candidates,Dr.Baldwin included. They will give some exposure to the Libertarians and Bob Barr if for no other reason than some of the outlandish positions they take such as gay, abortion,& drug rights. But......God fearing,Constitution loving true patriots....NOT A CHANCE!!! Prove I'm wrong....I truly do wish you could.:BangHead: :tear:

While I wouldn't necessarily like being drafted, I would gladly serve (although I am far too old now). In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, I very seriously looked into opportunities for government service in the military, the CIA, and other services. I didn't have what they were looking for at the time.
I may be different from most people my age, but I was raised by parents who were profoundly affected by WWII: my father volunteered for service when he was 17 and worked in the shipyards until they would take him and my mother faced the terror of Nazism as a citizen in Europe.
It is a noble thing to serve. If my government decides they need me, I'll go. -

And frankly, as a writer and desktop publishing expert, I'm surprised that the person(s) who put together the Web page presenting the party's platform couldn't even keep the fonts consistent. :) -
Very Surprized
BB....I must admit your completely negative impression of the CP surprizes me completely. I am the father of a two-tour USMC Sargeant who has been put in harms way and went willingly. I have no problem with that and I am proud of him for his service. BUT.....he was there(Iraq and South America)at the behest of a corrupt government that has abandoned the Constitution and the principles of liberty the founders envisioned for this once-great but dying country. If our government had our best interests at heart they would pull our troops OUT of Iraq and Afghanistan and bring them home to protect our OWN BORDERS. The majority of the Islamic people of the middle east do not want us there and don't agree with our way of life. I don't care what George Bush would have you think.
If you'd care to take the time,I would be interested in what parts of the CP platform you take issue with as opposed to and compared to how our Government NOW does things. Surely you don't REALLY believe that either the Republicans OR the Democrats have the answers.....DO YOU????
It rather surprized me that you would "throw the baby out with the bathwater" just because of the misuse or some errors in the use of FONTS. Really now....are we reduced now to 'give me liberty...or give me the right FONTS?' Please tell me you aren't serious....PLEASE ! Anyway...now that I am fairly sure I have probably offended you PLEASE share with all of us the real issues you have with the CP platform. And brother, I am a Baptist believer as well but we can agree to disagree if we need to. There is one great equalizer....we will all give an account to God at the JSOC.The playing field will be level there but I do want to make the right judgements, discernments, and decisions here so I won't be ashamed there. That is the main reason why how we VOTE here matters.

Unjust? Haven't seen one. -

Please tell me you did not mean to imply that God will look favorably on your membership in the Constitution Party.
Dangerously presumptious thinking.
Silly, as well. -

This is a joke right? I didn't realize anyone still talked like that since the flower children of the sixties. -

Many people mix up cultural / national values with Christian ones. Perhaps in many cases this is unintentional, but I suggest it happens a lot. Some Americans (I use the USA as an example, but I am sure the problem exists in other countries) seem to accord the same authority to the US Constitution as they do to the Scriptures. And in a culture which has a strong Christian heritage, at least in some sense, the boundary between "national values" and kingdom of God values gets blurred. So, for example, we get this odd alignment between Christians and advocates for gun freedom, an association that I assert is decidedly unChristian in reality. Or you get the content of the gospel tainted with unChristian notions of militarism. -

Do you really think God cares if you are member of the CP or not?

Carpro...just to clarify,I wasn't trying to suggest that CP membership would buy ANYONE status, standing,or favors of any kind at that JSOC....simply saying that how we VOTE and WHO we vote for based on what the candidates AND their Parties stand for DOES MATTER in God's eyes. If we,as Christians, vote for some obviously wicked, ungodly candidate don't YOU think our God MAY have some issues with that? Just something to think and pray about. I'm just suggesting that the CP and Dr.Baldwin are an option worthy of the consideration of Christians. We can't afford another round of "business as usual" in the White House.:tear:
