This right here is one of the reasons Blacks in Ferguson have issues with the police department. And his is the SAME attitude that is on display by some on this board and throughout the church. DISGUSTING!!!
That's disgusting and I hope he's fired--permanently.
That said, I hate how the news is handling this. But aside from being someone from the same police force in the same city, this really has little to nothing to do with the shooting that happened. Looks like more playing up controversy on the part of the media. It really shows what they're actually about, and exactly why I have a really hard time trusting any of the news networks.
My personal stance on the Ferguson case: Obviously someone is wrong, but I don't feel it's my place to decide who. I wasn't there, don't have raw evidence at my disposal, and because of this I really don't know the whole story.
If it was the officer and he didn't shoot in self defense, then he's in the wrong and something needs to be done about that. Let the law decide who's guilty.
And I really hate that the news is making this whole thing about racism. Racism still exists in the hearts of some people, there's no denying that. But to immediately make this about racism simply because the person who died happened to be a black man? There's a logical fallacy for that, and it's called appeal to emotion.
I'm beginning to wonder if the internet idiots of this generation known as tumblr's "Social Justice Warriors" are children who grew up watching and believing whatever the mainstream media tells them.
could be pent up anger and frustration at how the libs and the MSM are manipulating the Ferguson shooting to try his fellow officer by publicity.
also anger at the Governor who would rather crucify one who lays his life on the line publicly for everybody, black, white, red, maroon, asian, yellow, olive, and what-have-you, just because he fears the black tide that could rise up and swallow him all the way from his boss at the White House to the entitled looter on the street.
Wow .... you got yourself some explosive munition ....
..... this should be very helpful to support your views. This is like finding a box of grenades and automatics with ammunition, on the side of the road. Just be careful when and how you use it. Like all munition, it is not endless!
And what view would that be? That things really haven't changed as much as the majority would like to believe?
I'm just repeating what Blacks already know. The attitudes of the 60s and 70s still exist. They've just changed form and gone underground. He sounds a lot like folks on this board though.
Proof .... anyone can sling mud, but I would think that kind of accusation deserves some quotes, and names of who said what. I think that if you are willing to slay it, absolute proof should be attached.
When I make a topic public, I list sources and resourcese I.e., cyber links.
In other words, put up or apologize to the, "lot of folks on the board" or admit you are exaggerating AGAIN!
Who cares what he says. In fact I am going to go have a cup of coffee and continue not caring what he says. He has no value, no difference, and no effect on my life. Put him on ignore and let him talk to himself.
Some of you don't have a clue and can't see beyond your own brand of vileness. People read this board. And it confirms exactly what Blacks have often said White people think of them but won't say it to their faces.
It confirms the smile in your face while stabbing em in the back type racial prejudice that they know exists that's just as dangerous and disgusting as some of the stuff done in the 60s and 70s.
But yall think things are fine when you everyday contribute to the problem all in the name of "politics". Forgive them Jesus for apparently they know not what they do.
But then again, some of ya have become so hardened that you don't care. You just want to be right and profess your rightness.
"To hades with them and their cries of racism and anything else. Things have gotten much better. All the race issues are due to them being
racists. I don't care what they say or feel. They caused their own problems. I'm just telling the truth, etc, etc."
No, that last part isn't any particular person's rant. But on any given day, it's how several folks on here come across when anything has to do with anyone with black skin including the President and members of his staff.
Somewhere along the way the folks who are supposed to be representatives of the love of Christ became representatives of themselves.
If yall really can't see a problem with your behavior, then keep doing it. But if you really want to see the issue, sit down with a group of black people and let them read some of the things that yall have written and see what they think.
Some of attitudes on this board display the same thing that Dan Page does.
Scripture says to love your neighbor as yourself. But then again some of you seem to want to operate in your being RIGHT more than you want to operate in His might.
So write me off. It doesn't change the truth.
Forgive them Jesus because they know not what they do!...but they have to care what they do for that to matter.
Since Zaac isn't big on providing links, here ya go:
This may be found in the "Ferguson, MO" thread, pages 6 and 7. [I'm not taking Matt Wade out of my killfile to provide you a direct link. If you want to find it, you can do it yourself.]
And as was said before, your type of response was expected no matter what anyone said or showed you.
No one called you or anyone else a racist. But apparently you and others seem to think that because your actions don't meet the definition of making you a racist, that the anger and racial prejudice towards Blacks and anyone who doesn't agree with your POV is any less damaging to any witness for Christ you may have.
The epic fail is that some of you are so consumed with being right that you don't care that folks read your comments and see how incredibly distant the behavior is from being anything that brings glory to Christ.
