My answer is not listed. His name is Roosevelt, but his first name is not Franklin.

Right, I'd have voted for either Frank's cousin Teddy or Harry the habadasher from Independence.

Wonder why William Henry Harrison or Millard Fillmore were not among the choices?
Or Andrew Johnson (our other impeached President)?
Where's Franklin Pierce now that we need him?
What about those who ran for President but lost? In that category, Barry Goldwater comes to mind and so does William Jennings Bryan (of Scopes Trial fame).
Then there were some Vice Presidents who should have been President, but don't get me started on that! -
I would have to go with Thomas Jefferson, who also, was not on the list of choices.
-
Greatest president of the 20th century: President Ronald Reagan.
-
I find the percentage who chose former President Reagan interesting because I am sure his appeal was not one dimensional. Some chose him for conduct while others his no sense approach to world affairs, some for his patriotism, and others for economical foresight etc.

When I saw "Dead Presidents" I thought about money!

Either Reagan or FDR. Both were neocons and understand how to defeat evil in their time.
Joseph Botwinick -
-
Ronald Reagan.
My choice for the best presidential candidate who was not elected whom I would have loved to have seen become president is Barry Goldwater. -

UnchartedSpirit, please do me a favor and please stop using the Lord's name in vain on the BB. I only say this because this isn't the first time that I have seen you do this.
I love you in the Lord and I mean no offense. That's the honest truth, dear little brother in Christ.
Peace-

I'm sorry all. I didn't see it as blasphemy. I called on God to calm me down from the recoil of recalling that movie, that's all.

Depends on whether you regard those 11 states over which he was President as continuously being in the US. Were they a faction which recognized a different President than Lincoln, or were they in fact a separate nation for a period ot time?
Maybe Sam Houston, M.B. Lamar, and Anson Jones, the Presidents of Texas, should also be included.
I don't think Hawaii had a President, but they had a king. As for governments for thousands of years before 1776... presidents, kings, high chiefs, confederation councils....who knows? -
Why was Jefferson Davis on the list? He was never President of the United States.
