Well, there is this:
"Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues,
and the chief rooms at feasts;
Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation." Luke 20:46-47
There is also this:
"But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the
righteous judgment of God;
Who will render to every man according to his deeds:" Rom. 2:5-6
Wrath is piled up by the sinner in the same manner that we treasure up rewards to be rendered at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Are there not varying degrees of reward as well?
"He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He." Deut. 32:4
