I just returned from a church seminar on technology and the church.
There was a discussion on how technology (particularly social media) is changing society both for the good and bad.

“To live life in the modern world requires constant reassessment of how our society and technology are shaping us. We should be open to taking drastic steps to reject practices and habits that we believe are destructive and evil. But the vast majority of innovations will not be so clear cut, and we will have to weigh benefits purposes and damaging effects individually and in community.”

I would describe my relationship with technology as ________________.

Dwindling. I did not like my Prius hybrid so I bought a Conventional Honda Accord, I did install a porch camera to let me know what’s lurking on my property and I have an older model Apple phone and tablet…. That’s the extent of my desire to go high tech.

Oh and I don’t participate in social media like Facebook, Twitter/x, blah blah… my wife does that but I could care less.

I would describe my relationship with technology as “waste deep”.

    I carry my phone everywhere.

I use Audible while traveling to and fro in my car.

I do Facebook with family a a few friends but usually post only pictures, no politics, and rarely religious material.

I have a few games, Golf Clash and GuruShots.

My phone is my library and my Bible, I’m heavily invested in Logos Bible Software. I’ve been with it about 25 years, back when it loaded from floppy discs. While I don’t like reading a book digitally, I do like to search topics digitally from those that I have previously read.

My calendar is on the phone as well. Reminders are programmed to ring to keep me on schedule.
Traffic and weather apps are used too.

I’ll admit to checking my phone at breakfast and lunch when I’m alone but it’s not there at the dinner table with my wife.

I use my phone to pass time (BB, videos, TV, Netflix) at work. I need it for banking, directions and reservations. Have not used a computer (except at work) for about a year (I have one, just do not really have a use for it most of the time).

I do use logos on my phone (have it on my computer as well).

    I don't do social media.

This is a photo of my former work station.
Just a bit tech heavy: Cardiologist on the left, nuclear tech in middle and my trainee, a Nurse Practitioner on the right.
