.....Do you agree with Pat on this?

I do not think he is Biblically correct. We marry our spouse for "better of worse, in sickness and health, until death do them part! "
Let's hear what you think in both the attached poll and the comment section. I'm sure this will be an interesting post!

This kind of statement is why I have not taken Pat Robertson seriously for many years
-
No no NO...I do not agree with brother Robertson.
I am very surprised and saddened to read of him saying this. -

I Agree....

I have not been a fan of Dr Robertson for a long, long time. Still, I thought this must be some kind of sensationalist thread title.
I am saddened to see that it looks like just what it is :-( -

I wonder if Robertson's wife has Alzheimer's disease?

I do not know what is driving Mr. Robertson in this area except his personal rational but he is no more guilty then many who reject other clear teachings in the bible for personal satisfaction.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears -
I disagree with divorcing a spouse for sickness. It goes against God's word and it goes against the marriage vows.
-
First, he is unbiblical from the get-go. Secondly? He needs to groom himself. :love2:

Here's another source for the story.

This man has brought immeasurable shame to the name of Christ over the years.
-
I couldn't access the first link but I was able to read the second.
Married for 38 years and a carer for the past 21, I couldn't imagine divorcing my husband due to ill health. Ok, he doesn't have Alzheimers but 2 brain tumours, hydrochephalus, osteomyelitis, and arthritis plus the numerous stays in hospital is no reason or excuse for me to abandon the vows I made "til death do us part"
What an insult to those who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimers. -
How can we shut him up? -
If Jesus said that God has put them together, and NO man is to pull them asunder...
He stated ONLY adultery/marital unfaithfulness is gounds for a Divorce, and EVEN then not required as restoration preferred...
have to take the Word of the Lord over pat! -

Nobody I know still a) listens to this guy, or b) takes these kinds of pronouncements from him and his I'll seriously.
I mean really, who here didn't roll their eyes when they saw this. Robertson needs to hang up the spurs and call it a day for his role in our society. -

Maybe Robertson is getting senile?
