What have you seen in the last year?
Do you frequent the theatre?

Can't remember back that far. Most recent was National Treasure. A very good movie, Indiana Jones style action movie, steeped in American History and Myth. Rated PG, I assume for violence, very little or no foul language. Very clever and absolutely impossible screenplay.
Nick Cage is the star, Sean Bean (Boromir from LOTR), John Voight, and some people I don't know are in it. -
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana performed by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
The Air Force Band of Mid America
The last drama I actually attended would be West Side Story.
I have also seen Cats, Blast 2: Shockwave, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Hair (would not reccomend this to anyone. This was a mistake on my part, didn't realize how aweful it was till I went and saw it) on stage.

We saw Seussical the Musical this summer past and enjoyed it greatly. -
I thoroughly enjoyed Cats.
Joseph Botwinick -
Joseph, did you like techincolor dreamcoat?
-
Yeah. It was alright, although I didn't appreciate some of the humor in it. Might just be me, but some of it seemed a bit sacreligious for my taste. The music was pure genious however.
Joseph Botwinick -
I too loved the music in it. Sacriligious? eh. Depends on who performs it.

Beauty and the Beast was great.
Singin in the Rain was amazing. I loved this play!
Fiddler on the Roof, I was in this puppy and it was amazing.
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, this was really good as well.
As for Hair I have heard a couple of the songs from it here is a lovely lyric:
"She asks me why, I'm just a hairy guy.
I'm hairy noon and night, hair that's a fright.
I'm hairy high and low, don't ask me why, don't know.
It's not for lack of bread, like the Greadful Death.
Darlin'
Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair.
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen.
Give me down to there hair, shoulder lenght or longer
Here baby, there, momma, ev'rywhere, daddy, daddy.
hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair.Flow it, show it,long as God can grow it, my hair.
Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees, give a home to the fleas in my hair.
A home for fleas (yeah) a hive for bees (yeah),
a nest for birds, there ain't no words for the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my:
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it,long as God can grow it, my hair
I want long, straigth, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty,
oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen,
knotted, polka dotted, twisted, beaded, braided,
powered, flowered and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled and spahettied.
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair.Flow it, show it,
long as God can grow it, my hair
They'll be ga-ga at the go-go when they see me in my toga,
my toga meade of blond, brilliantined, biblical hair.
My hair like Jesus wore it, Halleluja I adore it, Halleluja Mary loved her son,why don't my mother love me?
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Folw it, show it
long as God can grow it, my hair
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Hair, hair, hair
Folw it, show it
long as God can grow it, my hair"
My mom hates this song so much, this being the case I sing it to her often.
I know you were laughing while you read this. -
I agree with your mom.

I have seen Les Miserables (fantastic) Cats - ok, Miss Siagon - (fantastic) Rent (great in parts) Grease (took my daughter - forgot about all the sexual innuendo - yikes) Fiddler on the Roof (fantastic) Camelot - with Richard Burton, this was my first live show - it hooked me on live theater, Showboat, Oklahoma and many highschool and local theater plays/musicals. I saw Phantom of the Opera on a trip to London once, that was an unforgettable experience! Also saw Six degrees of separation over there - that was the one play I almost and probably should have walked out on.
I have only seen a couple operas, but my favorite was Porgy and Bess -
I really want to be in Les Miserables. I want to be Valjean, and sing the show stopper "Bring Him Home."

Have season tickets to the Wyoming Symphony. Our college put on Guys and Dolls, Man of LaMancha and another in the "Nunsense" (funny) series.
City Event Center hosts "best of broadway" when touring casts come in. Have not made it to any lately, as schedules conflicted.
Amazing for being in the middle of nowhere that we have the cultural opportunities we have. -
I just saw Phantom of the Opera (movie version) and I have also seen it in a live production and both are wonderful!!!!!!
I love it. -
I have seen Phantom of the Opera twice, [ the one starring the actor with the last name Mcginty was best] and i saw Contact and Aeda am not sure of the spelling of Aeda. Of all of the bway plays ----Phantom of the Opera was best, I will see it again one day--especially if Mcginty comes back and visits ---
