Do you have a defined statement of beliefs as regarding wether calvinism or not, pre mil Coming or not, spiritual gifts or not Etc?
that members have to go by ONE way to view that, or is it open to differing viewpoints?
does you Church have "official" positions On cal/Arm/Second Coming etc?

We don't have a specific written position, but I preach my convictions. I am not a Calvinist but we have Calvinist' Bible study teachers. I am pre-mill and we may have those who are different on eschatology than I am. We believe that there are spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit gives but we do not believe that the ecstatic tongues that are practiced in Pent/Charismatic churches is what the bible describes as tongues in the 1st century. There may be those who speak in ecstatic tongues, but I don't know of any and i think they would probably be uncomfortable here. -

I am not saying you do this, because I know what you believe, but many here make Calvinism seemingly the only point in fellowship in a church or even in a friendship. If you made Calvinism the main thrust of your teaching, then no we couldn't cohabit in the same church, although we could cohabit as friends. But it isn't just Calvinism I think that about. If a teacher made our premill position the main thrust of their teaching, I would feel the same.
We try hard to be expositional not just in the preaching but in the teaching of adult classes. And to be truly expositional, you have to take all the Scripture, not just Romans 9-11 or Daniel/Revelation.
I've been in ministry for 30 years and, although I have become more firm in what I believe to be the teaching of Scripture, I have also become more squishy :tongue3: in terms of the freedom I try to allow other believers to think is clearly taught in Scripture. I'm not always successful, but i try. -

The ORB's in my area do hold to salvation by Grace. We are saved by Grace through faith.
Some ORB assocs believe closer to the PB side. The SGA(Sovereign Grace Assoc of ORB), Bethel assoc ORB, Original Mountain Liberty, just to name a few, are much closer to the PB's in their doctrine. The SGA came from a split in NNS(Northern New Salem ORB). They went to the OML, and got an arm from them to form their association. The Bethel came from a split in the Union Assoc. of ORB in 1961(?). The New Salem and Union assocs. have churches within their assocs that are closer to the SGA, Bethel, OML, PB's, but have decided to stay in their assocs. These assocs, if they are like the PBs, do not think it's necessary to preach the gospel to the lost, because God will save His children regardless they hear the gospel preached or not. But that's in anutter thread already....:D
My association, Indian Bottom, believes that Christ died for all, but only those who truly believe will be saved. -
don't see cal or not, time of the second coming etc as grounds!
