Thank you, LadyEagle. You and I may have some eschatological disagreements but I know that your heart is in the right place.

2) It took one sick sub-human to perform such a despicable action. May God have mercy on anyone who tries to excuse this action.
By the way, hillclimber, regarding Gandhi - some non-Christians are more moral than some Christians. </font>[/QUOTE]PROOFS OF YOUR DEVALUE OF HUMANITY
1. declaring people subhuman.
We are not discussing acts of God, and I'm not going to try to find an excuse for the cruel acts perpetrated by a sub-human(s).
2. Then advocating their deaths.
Whoever perpetrated this dog massacre should receive this after being convicted - hang 'em. Hang 'em high
More like execution for the unwarranted killing of pets.
By the way, hillclimber, regarding Gandhi - some non-Christians are more moral than some Christians.
If your measure is mans own efforts at morality. I do not include that. -
You also said in a previous post that you would die with your pets rather than live and let them die. I'm sure God doesn't agree with that line of morality.

I believe that Jesus "drew the line" of value between human life and animal life!!
In Matthew 10:29 Jesus poses the question--"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father."
Sure--was a value placed upon the sparrows here??
Absolutely!!! A farthing for the pair----and the Father knows that one of um was gonna "make it" and the other one wasn't!!
But I believe that although God does value the life of an animal---in God's eyes---the value of human life TRUMPS the value of animal life---for in Matthew 10:31 God in flesh says, "Fear ye not therefore, ye are of MORE(emphasis mine) value than many sparrows."
My reasoning is---if Jesus "equates" animal life with human life---then why did he not walk BESIDE, IN FRONT OF, or IN BACK OF the little donkey instead of RIDING the beast of burden into Jerusalem??
Would Jesus have shot those bunch of dogs down like the OP's link suggested had He been in the flooded area of New Orleans???
I say--no--He wouldn't have!!!
But I can be safe to say---no doubt---that He would have walked right on by a dying dog to save a dying man!!!
I mean---you think about it!!! If Jesus were in that rescue "Air Boat"----and there were room enough for just ONE more----would He choose Rin-tin-tin------or would He choose Zaccheus???
Would he choose that prize Pit Bull or the woman at the well??
Would he choose that fine Throughobred---or the man of Gadera???
Think about it!!! -
I do think you and Blackbird make some excellent points. There are some sick folks who would choose their dog over their children. I don't advovate "hanging" those who killed the dogs. (unless the did it needlessly or contemptuously), but the senseless killing of animals is definately a step toward the devaluing of human life.
I didn't read anything in Blackbird's post that I disagree with.

But that was just rude.

Lacy,
If hillclimber is going to to dish it out, then he had best be able to take it. ;)
By the way, this is not the first time hillclimber and I have crossed swords. We disagree pretty vehemently on lots of topics. -
-
I would send my wife to safety while I tended to the dogs.
All of our children have four legs and a tail. -
But if you want to believe that I devalue humanity, then go ahead. It ain't no skin off of my nose. I stand by my statements and refuse to back down at all. -
It's those pesky guppies that I haven't accounted for yet. -

Suppose you find out he's the only Vet within 500 miles---there you are "Dukein'" it out with him---then you gotta call him up to come fix up your Canine!!
I'm gonna bet---if you saw that water risin' 6"/hour and its just a matter of 2 hours before that H2O is cascadeing over your sandbags and into your house---that your story will somehow change!!! -

Also, before this thread is closed I want to apologize for my harsh words towards hillclimber. I allowed his remarks to get under my skin and I should not have done that. My apologies, hillclimber. -
