I'm not gonna get into the details of the women in my life other than to say the one that is in subjection to me...we get along quite well and I'd dare say she's awful happy to be in service to the King of Kings by being a help meet to me. The others that I know that are in subjection to their husbands, we get along quite well, for I respect them and treat them as though they were my mother or a sister in all purity. As I read the scripture, the only office in the modern church that is prohibited to women is the office of the pastor. I am not even sure about the office of the pastor as the new testament does say that women will prophesy in the last days - as they did following Jesus's death and resurection.
I dont see Paul dealing with women in the workplace, and the ideal woman in the Proverbs sold goods and managed the home.
I can understand women (and men)wanting women to be home while the children are young - but the best predictor of a woman on antipsychotic drugs is an empty nest woman with not enough to do to keep her mind occupied.
I for one am happy that my bride of 26 years has an occupation that keeps her fulfilled in a way that she would not be if she were still at home. With the divorce rate the way that it is, you can bet that I am encouraging my daughters to have careers that they can fall back on if the men they marry should turn out to be bums or worse.
