    Ellen DeGeneres is not the first name that pops into my head when I think of femininity and beauty product models. However, Ellen DeGeneres has been announced as the new spokesmodel for CoverGirl.

    Ellen DeGeneres will be starring in a new ad campaign that will launch in January 2009 for CoverGirl, a makeup line by Procter & Gamble Cosmetics.

    “Ellen is the quintessential CoverGirl,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, a Procter & Gamble vice president, in a statement. “She is smart, confident, natural and beautiful from the inside out.”

    I guess since they've done the hetero thing, they'll now target the homosexual group?

    Jeepers - that's it. I'm done with Cover Girl (not that I buy much make-up at all - and I don't usually buy CG).

    Yea me too. I am going to get all my make up somewhere else.:laugh:

    Seriously, I can understand they think she might help there sales in the homosexual market but does she wear makeup? I don't know a lot about her but it seems like she has a more natural look. Don't most homosexual women use minimal if any make up? I may be showing my ignorance here.

    She doesn't wear makeup. Why would she be thier represenative. She doesn't look like a girl to me, and she doesn't want you to think shes a girl either.
    When i do buy make up I do usually buy cover girl, because it's cheaper, but I won't be buying it as long as gay ellen is their spokemodel.

    What a joke! I think this is a very dumb move on CG's part. People will see Ellen doesn't wear make up and their sales will plummet!

    I'm switching back to Olay!

    It's really a stupid move on their part since Ellen is so obviously the 'male' partner in their "marriage" and does NOT wear make-up!

    I think they're going to lose a lot of business and I hope they do!

    Is EVERY COMPANY joining in on the homos*xual bandwagon?

    Sacrificing morals for the almighty dollar....again. :mad:

    Well, that's it. :BangHead: No more CoverGirl for me or my daughter either. Seems like every time I turn around we are having to boycott more things.

    Femininity she is not.............. how true. I'm just as puzzled too about them choosing her.

    That's because of Google ads. It reads what's on the page and puts in ads that fit the topic. BB has no control over them.
