Ellen DeGeneres is not the first name that pops into my head when I think of femininity and beauty product models. However, Ellen DeGeneres has been announced as the new spokesmodel for CoverGirl.

Ellen DeGeneres will be starring in a new ad campaign that will launch in January 2009 for CoverGirl, a makeup line by Procter & Gamble Cosmetics.

“Ellen is the quintessential CoverGirl,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, a Procter & Gamble vice president, in a statement. “She is smart, confident, natural and beautiful from the inside out.”

Seriously, I can understand they think she might help there sales in the homosexual market but does she wear makeup? I don't know a lot about her but it seems like she has a more natural look. Don't most homosexual women use minimal if any make up? I may be showing my ignorance here.

She doesn't wear makeup. Why would she be thier represenative. She doesn't look like a girl to me, and she doesn't want you to think shes a girl either.
When i do buy make up I do usually buy cover girl, because it's cheaper, but I won't be buying it as long as gay ellen is their spokemodel.

It's really a stupid move on their part since Ellen is so obviously the 'male' partner in their "marriage" and does NOT wear make-up!

I think they're going to lose a lot of business and I hope they do!
