I'm not exactly sure which is my favorite, Mansion over the Hilltop is fun to play b/c the melody has 7ths.
I wish there was some way that I could hear you guys play! Do any of you have recordings? Celeb, I'll get it to you sometime, I've still got to go to All-state Saturday but I think I'll be free next week except we might record with a man from MN who sings. excuses excuses. OK, I'm sorry for interupting myself... If you don't have recordings then could you record yourself onto a casette tape for me? That is one thing that I hate about long-distance friends- they're long-distance!!

LOL i know what you mean..I would record for you...but there isnt much to listen to..I really only know 2 songs other than the ones I have to learn from my lesson book. would love if yall sent me a recording though :D
-
We can make a deal....
-
my favorite instument to play I guess would be...hmmm...the piano probably but I like playing the french horn. I have a guitar that I want to learn but I havent learned even a note so far and I have had it for like a year. I think it would be cool to play the violin/fiddle and I kind of want to learn the flute. I dont really like playing the trumpet though I am pretty good at it... its just a bit to loud.

Do you have any recordings, Britney? The guitar isn't hard to learn, you should probably start with chords and learn a circle. It is easier to learn when you have friends to play it with (more than one guitar) b/c rythmn comes easier and you are playing a song which makes you not feel like you're not learning anything. I don't play the guitar much b/c I love fiddle a gazillion times more. :D ;) My brother plays awesome guitar though and plays a lot of new styles that he makes up. (he's never had lessons)
I wish I could hear you guys!!!

"why do you have a walker? "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LOL, Kayla, you should be ashamed!
Ok, Kate, here's what I went and got myself into.
Sunday night (a week ago sunday night) I started having some horrible pain from my hip to my toes. Well, I have arthritis and it can be pretty painful some days, and since I'd just finished mopping bathrooms I figured that was the problem.
Well the pain got REALLY bad, and my preacher and a friend of mine kept looking at me. I knew I had to get out of there quick because I sit on the front row and I didn't want to be a distraction. I got up during singing and went to the church office were I could still hear the service.
Well I didn't know it, but my temp. was 103, which explains why I couldn't keep still. My grandpa went home and got some pain medication, but by the end of the service I was bitting a handkerchief to keep from screaming. They took me home and my grandma tried putting me to bed. When she took off my stockings she noticed my leg was swollen, red and black and purple, and that I had a bad cut on my toe. (turns out that was an ingrown toenail, but I didn't know what that looked like so it never occured to me that that was the problem.)
So they took me to the hospital because they thought I had blood poisening...and they were right. Blood poisening and Cellulitis. They gave me lots of shots and an IV and drew lots of blood and kept me for a week...can't you tell I had loads of fun? ;) (Actualy it's not all that funny because the doctors thought I might die.)
Besides the fact I'm totaly drained, I'm not supposed to walk without a walker untill Thursday. My leg is still pretty tender, so I'm not complaining too much, and very gratful God saw fit to keep me here.
Kayla, you just wait! I'm gonna write you-know-who!!!! I'm kidding, but you really should be ashamed for making fun of poor difensless girls on walkers!
BTW, Katelyn, I got your PM, and I sent a reply. -
I really like his music have you read his testimony? If you have not go to: www.Jeremycamp.com and read it. I was very touched by it and his faith in God.
Do any of you folks (whether you are "youth" or you are, shall we say, "advanced-level youth") enjoy "the other kind of CCM"...namely Christian Celtic Music?
I suppose one reason why I've come to enjoy at least some varieties of "the other CCM" is because my family's ancestors were Scottish (my family name appears in accounts that go at least as far back as the days of William Wallace ["Braveheart"] and his successor Robert the Bruce back in the early 1300's).
But even if your last name might be Ortiz, or von Dietchmann, or Patel, there's just something hauntingly enchanting about the Celtic style of music...almost "other-worldly."
Anyway, one of my most (OK, my M-O-S-T) favorite worship leaders, Don Moen ("God Will Make a Way," "God is Good All the Time," etc.) came out with his latest project "Thank You Lord," most of the last half of it is played in Celtic style (with Don himself supplying the fiddle!). This leads me to wonder if there are some other groups that you know of that specialize in this genre of Christian music.
Since I'm no longer "too young to know everything," (just kidding, y'all), maybe some of you can guide me into being a little more knowledgeable about this style, that is, "the other CCM."
If you can help me, I'd appreciate it. Names of groups, what specific songs (and/or instrumental versions of songs) you love to listen to in that style, or anything else, would really help me sort through a lot of this.
Any of you laddies or lassies want to add your opinion(s) / comment(s)?
