So Today I was turning through my television and turned on TBN and I heard some singing and on the bottom of the screen I saw a line that bugged Me which said that a scripture in Deueuronamy says
"If you don't give God wont hear your prayers".
Full of anger I changed the channel as I know this
is not so.
The other day I turned there
and saw a praise a thon and it was on a whole week
with people
preaching Malachi 3:10 about tithing. Okay To sum it up I am fed up with TV preachers who call themselves Christians begging us to give especially in sermons and especially saying that the reason your not in Gods favor
or you don't get healing is because you don't give. If any normal preacher or pastor were to preach this unsound doctrine we would have him thrown out of a church.
I was wondering everyones thoughts on this before this Christian blows
A lot of sound ministries ask for money. I think this is the least thing about TBN that is disturbing. What is truly disturbing is their promotion of false teachers, including Oneness teachers.
Sure, I hope you realize my definition is far from just asking. Telling someone their prayers will not be heard if they don't give to the new jet fund is what I'm talkin bout.
Maybe I can help DoeroftheWord calm down a bit with this story:
Several years ago my daughter somehow got on the mailing list of one of those blab-it-and-grab-it groups.
One day the phone range and it was the ministry calling to ask for a donation.
The caller promised that God would multiply that gift back to her manyfold, and asked for $1,000.
My daughter said, "you really believe strongly that God will bless me manyfold for my gift?"
"I really do," said the caller.
"Well," said my daughter, "I tell you what.
Send ME $1,000 and God will bless your ministry manyfold.
If I send you a thousand, that's all you get.
If you send me the thousand, think how much you'll get back"
"Uh, well, uh, we can't do that."
"Okay, I can see you really don't have much faith.
Bye."
I watch them sometimes to keep up with the tactics being used by the evil one.
Then sometimes I watch them for the same reason most folks watch NASCAR (for the crashes), I want to see it when the lightning strikes.
Actually, there is at least one Bona Fide, true Christian show on TBN:
Way of The Master, with Ray Comfort, and Kirk Cameron. What's funny about there show, is that they direct you to their website, and their radio program, where they basically call everyone else on TBN heretics.
The Dean of their Evangelism school, actually told us that the owners of TBN told them they don't care what the show preaches, or says, as long as they bring in ratings.
