When I was a kid - it would start snowing in Oct - you would not see green grass until April.
Last week we had 8" of snow in one day - within 5 days - it was all gone! That is the norm now- We used to get close to 200" a year - now - only about half that -
Shoot back in Jan - we had several days of a heat wave - it was in the 60's!
Finally Retired

Actually, the big problem for me - is that one day - it will be 60, then 20, then 40, thne 30 - then 60 again. And that is a killer for my knees- not that it just hurts when it gets cold - but the constant change in weather.
My wife has a good state job and will retire in about 5 years - the we might consider moving -

Much will depend on my sons next employment… will he snag a job with Porshe in Atlanta or move to Mercedes… it’s too early to say… but it won’t be in the snow belt. -

I
We invite many whining British/ Pom retirees and families here, but I would much rather Americans or more particularly American conservatives here, we love them to pieces.
Went round to one American blokes place and he was building a Thunder Mustang under the house, had the best selection of South Australian Shiraz’s on earth in the cellar. Top Reloading gear for working up the best target and hunting loads. He totally understood the whole retirement thing.
Americans in my experience are beautiful resourceful people.
Took some Americans from Indiana under my wing and out on the air boat fishing and they really loved it. Fishing for mangrove jack and Barramundi. It was a bad dangerous area for crocs and things but the old the bloke said it was the greatest adventure of his life. His face said he really meant it. They really appreciate things, whereas the Poms didn’t get what we were showing them.
I took them to a place where only I and my aboriginal brothers go, they thought they were on the island of Kong and half expected dinosaurs to jump out. That place is very unique, but no damage was done and we showed the wonders in 30-45 minutes and took off again.
This is the Wild West and many locals don’t even know the extent of it. It’s Primordial and untouched by man in many areas.
But there is the life style, climate and beauty here.
Typical beach.
Top hospital care.
Royal Flying doctor if you trip over and break your face in the outback.
Millions of Camels to hunt. Meat is better than moose.
It’s all here. -

We would be the richest country in human history per capita if that was ever achieved. The coof May have fuzzed recent figures however. -
It’s a stupid move because Conservatives are what keeps the dream alive. The economic magic only happens by the hard working, innovation from conservative values. A nation over populated with moochers just becomes a great hellhole and dies.
That’s why I say bring your values and when here, vote your values.
We have a serious American deficiency, bring your tired and abused bill of Rights and Constitutional values to a place where it would truly be appreciated. -

Perhaps Australian conservatives and libertarians should holiday in Mexico and take the opportunity to cross the border illegally in their millions.
The truly logical thing to do would be to make Australia the next State in the Union. Not become a republic but join the Republic that matters, with a Bill of human Rights. -
Looked into it a little bit. Tennessee is where I would retire if I was a God fearing conservative American.
Milder climates, low taxes, trapping and hunting culture. Good healthcare. -
