To those who fail or refuse to support our troops you are traitors of the highest order. To attack our president is in accordance with the position he placed himself in when he ran for office. But to take our military men put them in a catch 22 and not support them is a tragedy of the greatest magnitude and unforgivable in my opinion.
Those who do not support our troops are fools of the highest order for when you need them, and you will in the future, they will not be here. An ungrateful people will meet with unwilling prospects. Ultimately when your grandchildren, great grand children or in some cases your children need a strong military front to protect your homes turn to the lawyers and the politicians and see what you get. Ask the ACLU if they will stand up to an enemy knocking on the gates of America? Get Bill and Hilary Clinton and John Kerry and Al Gore to come and tell you some lies about how we’ve done everything in their power to stop these aggressor nations. Perhaps you can go to the U.N. and give them another 10 billion dollars to protect us with the peace keeping troops from nations that hate our guts.
You fail miserably as patriots and you do not deserve the status of US citizen I have fought and paid the price but I will tell you to your face I did not fight for you, I did not fight for the ACLU, I did not fight for men and women who will not support the very men who are doing the best they can under dire circumstances. Talk about the politicians all you want but support the men and women who had not choice in this matter.
You are the same people who when put to the ultimate test will deny the very God who purchased you with his blood. You call it freedom of speech I call treason.
To the moderators I trust this is not to abusive (I actually tempered what I wanted to say) :type:

Wow, that was really well put! I wish all people felt like this!

You are entitled to your opinions and feelings about this matter and as long as you do not attack individual members, you are posting within the posting rules of the board. However, I am going to move this out of the News Forum to the Politics Forum. That is, if I can figure out how to do it. BTW, I agree with you about our military.
Lady Eagle,

yeah, once everyone has the same stance, I wouldn't have the trouble of them uncontroabally influencing mine and constantly arguing over it.
-
Putting down Democratic politicians in some sort of ill-conceived, misguided snitfit hardly makes your case more credible; it just seems as though you are regurgitating hate-radio rant points for no particular reason except you somehow seem to blame them for the ills of the troops. Seriously, what has supporting the goals of the UN, the ACLU, lawyers and Democratic party politicians have to do with supporting or not supporting our troops? Where is the dichotomy?
If you did not fight for some particular people, do they still owe you gratitude - or just your agreed upon pay and benefits?
What triggered this rant? Is it because some people have mentioned atrocities which may have been committed by some troops? If you consider comment on the conduct of war and criticism of bad actions of a few to be treason, then you have a tenuous grasp of what treason is. -

Good post Daisy.
thjplgvp,
I'll be making my reply to your post point by point later on after I've given it much thought.
-
As daisy said, this was rather vague. Are you saying support our troops or support this unGodly and unconstitutional war?
I support the safety of the troops and I have friends in the military that I pray for.
But, if you think I am going to give my consent to Mr. Bushes war for empire, for policeman of the world,. you had better think again.
As for the troops, I pity the ones who were forced to go over there that did not support the war in the first place. -
I find it noteworthy who has offered defense while commenting they are not guilty. If you are not guilty of the charges why would it anger you that they have been made? Or could it be your moral conscience is convicting you?
-
So? -

They've brought in a draft and are allowing the "Nuremberg Defense" now are they? I must have missed it...
Fair dinkum....
What is there to support if the soldiers are just blindly going in to clean up the mess that politicians allowed to build up over 20-30 years? How many other looney time-bombs are the U.S. currently supporting that will blow up eventually? Answer: All of them.
Tell you what, if when the soldiers get home they feel like doing another "regime change" and go ask those from previous administrations who supported Saddam Insane and Co a few questions I'll gladly support them. Until then though I can't see much difference between the army's humans and it's hardware.
Well, I guess you must have put asbestos jacket on before typing that line, so ok, I'll bite :tongue3:
Isn't it maybe going just a tad far linking salvation with questioning the policy of the day (minute? second??) of the Holy American Empire...
I've heard some..."interesting"...things in taxi after 12 on Saturday night shift, this line went close to beating them all

Pete,
Habits are born of repetition. What I am saying is that when one repeatedly gives in, quits because of hardship, difficulties unforseen problems etc. one begins to establish a habit of quiting, giving up or of saying its to hard therefore when real persecution comes these same individuals will find it easier to circumvent persecution and surrender to demands of the enemy rather than indure it to the end.
This is not a reflection on salvation that is a spiritual issue between God and each of us so please do not make it so.
What some lose sight of is that there will be world wide conflict and there will be world wide persecution, when the wall is removed between us and the world we will find that all the world wanted was to destroy the believers. Our military is part of our wall of protection when that portion is deemed of no use or unworthy another part of our protection is gone not to be recovered in our time.
This is a sad note for me for I see not today but tommorrow. I don't know how old you are but I am nearly 60 I have children and grand children that are as old as some on this board. I have seen the attacks for 40 years and if the next 40 are as aggressive there will not be an America in 2050. -
Maybe 3rd Time Will Be the Charm...
What do you mean by "supporting the troops"?
How can we discuss this if you won't define your terms? -
Part of the problem is not pointing out the atrocities allegedly committed by a handful of our many troops, but the fact that some folks speedily accept the guilt of our troops. -
Why did they second-guess our commitment to freedom from genocide and demand that we cut and run?
"President Clinton is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy." -Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
"No goal, no objective, not until we have those things and a compelling case is made, then I say, back out of it, because innocent people are going to die for nothing. That's why I'm against it." -Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/5/99[oh what a hypocrite]
"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy." -Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)
"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy." -Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of presidential candidate George W. Bush
Why did they demoralize our brave men and women in uniform?
"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning...I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area." -Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)
"You think Vietnam was bad? Vietnam is nothing next to Kosovo." -Tony Snow, Fox News 3/24/99
"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years" -Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree very seldom with Tom Delay but he did say this ..with those with
short memories ..to put this critique of the occupation in persepective.
"You can support the troops but not the president"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)
so come on! those with short memories...get real!
-
Just for clarification... We are still in Kosovo.... about 10 years later.

BTW, Why are you now making these kinds of statements against Bush but protesting that these others did it to Clinton.
Let's get the facts straight: Clinton and Bush effectively agreed on Iraq. Bush took the Clinton policy to its conclusion- regime change.
Some Republicans condemned Clinton but not Bush- hypocrites.
You have condemned Bush but not Clinton-....?
