As far as affiliations, one if the entities is Wendermire Conference center. They claim no direct affiliation with anyone, however, I seem to remember some of the folks that voted to split with the Missouri Baptist Convention ended up with CBF (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship).

One of the stories on the Wendemire website refers to the loss by the Missouri Baptist Convention in 2014 before the Missouri Supreme Court. I hadn't heard about that, but it looks like it is over.

1500 acres of lake front property in the Missouri Ozarks, worth 100's of millions, paid for by members of the Missouri Baptist Convention, have been taken from their control by the "state" they believed would protect them by incorporation.

If you believe Christians can find justice in a secular court, I think you are going to be very disappointed.

All the more reason to consider ourselves to be primarily citizens of God's Kingdom, and not put too much trust in any secular government.

The convention and the church are not the same thing. Simply because they are religious organizations does not make it so. The church is in another category altogether.

Surely you can see that when the convention and a church file papers of incorporation, becoming corporations of the state, they became much closer to being "the same" than they were prior to filing those papers. Can you agree with that?
