Here are the instructions from Jesus to all believers: Preach the Gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons. Jesus did three things, He prayed, He preached, and he did signs and wonders, to help unbelief. We should be the same. It never changed. It is for believers. It did not stop when the last apostle in the bible died.It did not stop when the bible was completed. We are living epistles. This is what being Christlike really is. Taking on His nature, His thoughts, His words, His actions. This is the Kingdom of God. Many preachers and teachers have failed when they prayed over someone, if they prayed at all. Instead of looking at themselves to find the weakness or lack of faith, and then have success, they go to great lengths to explain why miracles should not happen. Doctors are wonderful, if you need to, go to one. But they are limited. God is not limited. To walk the walk is doing the works Jesus did, and greater, if you are a true believer.:jesus:
God still heals, and confirms His true servants

The bible is clear that false prophets and false Christs will be able to do great signs and wonders.
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
John 4:48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
What is the purpose of signs and wonders?
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
To confirm the inscripturation of the word of God. As the canon is closed, and a great curse is pronounced on those who try to add to the canon (Rev. 22:18) it is obvious that the purpose of signs and wonders has ceased and they are no longer Christian, but are the work of the devil to prepare the gullible for the coming of the Anti-Christ.
Only the wicked require a sign.
Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. -

I believe in divine healing, but little belief in faith healers. I have laid hands on an ill person and prayed over them, but it is still a divine act, not mine. Even the best prayer offered is the one the believers prays himself.
In my lifetime, I have yet to see anyone raised from the dead. Faith healers still wear glasses, suffer infirmities and visit medical doctors.

My advice to you is to repent, believe God's word, and reject the false teaching of your apostate "church." -

God's ways and thoughts are not ours... they are so much more. while He may choose to heal one, He may choose not to heal others. I have complete faith that He can heal anyone at anytime, but I also know that in the end it will be His will done and not mine. -

I'm waiting for someone to raise a dead man to life.
If one of you can do it, then I'll do the next one. -
I suffered 4 strokes. Lost my short term memory, speech and have partial paralysis.
God has not healed me, but the illness led me into a different ministry. So, I praise God that He didn't heal my body.
Cheers,
Jim -
Physical healing would be wonderful, but no matter what it would only be temporary. Spiritual healing is eternal.
Also, signs and wonders, including healing, does not bring people to Christ. Just go to a Benny Hinn meeting and it doesn't take long to see that most people are there for selfish reasons, not to honor Christ. -
God always heals Christians. No exceptions.
Scenario 1: To some believers, He offers healing on this earth.
Scenario 2: To all, He offers ultimate healing in Heaven.
Ultimately, we'll run out of "first scenarios." Praise God, we're promised the second. -
Let me get this straight- the rest of us on baptistboard who believe that signs and wonders ended with the apostolic era are NOT TRUE SERVANTS OF CHRIST????
Is that what you said?
If not, I am very interested to see how you spin those words.
Very interested- and quite amused at the thought of it. -
I said what the bible said, in my opinion if you like. I did not say you were not a true servant, we are all growing in Christ. But if the scripture challenges you, that's pretty awesome. Maybe in the future it's possible that God will put it on your heart to do the works of Jesus, and I'm convinced you already do many things for the Kingdom.:love2: -

EXACTLY, Jim
The true believers are healed thing is the credo of the Faith Healers. They pray for the sick, and when they are not healed, they point an accusing finger at their faith.
God does heal, but, for those who are not healed. He gives the spiritual strength to live with the affliction and continue to give Him glory, as Jim has.
If you have a problem understanding this concept, I suggest you try reading "Thorn Daze".
It is as good a book as there is about the subject you have proposed!
In short. Faith has no promise of being healed. I have prayed for many sick people, who were pillars of faith, and still died, or ended up with permanent maladies. Your suggestion is one that leaves the faithful servant questioning their faith and stand with God.
Shalom,

Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part. My friend look in the marrow at yourself before you judge another church! I advice you to go read about Paul and what he did to the church before Jesus in lighten him. But he did it ignorently just like some are doing today. But know God winks at ignorents and commands men every where to repent. But God have mercy on you and your words. -

As for the rest, you have, as with so many who hold to false doctrine, failed to understand the verses you quoted in context.
Go back, read them again, in context, then we will talk. -
