BTW, if a modern "translation" plagiarized so much of previous phrasing, there would no doubt be a lawsuit!
But, of course, even the AV translators said they were NOT making a new translation.
More than 85% of the AV wording/phrasing (which is arbitrary) is directly "borrowed" from previous great English bibles.
Did you see how FIFTY YEARS before, the Geneva Bible was almost word-for-word with the later copyists?
What a wonderful heritage we have. And remember, the AV is NOT a "new" translation, but just an attempt to make the older translations better.

And each of those versions was written in the English current for the time, and not in any special "Church English".
Personally, I consider Myles Coverdale to have been one of, if not the GREATEST, translator of the Scriptures into English, of all time.

All of them are God's word translated into a specific form of English.

Authorized Version, AD 1611.
Which I assume is KJV 1611. The one and only true word of God in the english language.

Laura, do you mean to say that the Word of God never existed in English until 1611?

Laura, how can you PROVE this?? How can you prove that ONLY THE KJV is valid??
Do you use an authentic AV 1611, or do you use a 1769 Blayney's Edition? They're quite different editions.

Of course it existed before 1611!
It existed in the same form we have it today, the ESV Thinline, the Bible of Jesus, Paul, John, the Waldenflugens, and every true local body of Baptist Believers from Christ until now.
How silly of you.

Other comments?
I LOVE to read the old English of these pre-1600 versions.
