Well here you have it. The same members of the GOP who claim to be so pro-life add a rider to the Zika bill that they know will cause the whole bill to be rejected. Why could they possibly have added to a funding bill to fight Zika?
- They want to be able to fly the Confederate Flag in national cemeteries.:Cautious
- Another attack on Obamacare funding
- And another attack on Planned Parenthood funding
But the US populace is supposed to believe that the GOP is serious about being pro-life. This proves that abortion is just a political tool for the GOP and they don't give a rat's behind about the lives of babies, born or unborn.
And then have the audacity to try to make it look like the Dems are the problem when the GOP is the one who added the riders that they KNEW would cause the bill to fail.
What on earth do any of those three issues have to do with Zika?
Just disgusting!

So, the pro-life GOP does not care if living people die or are disabled for life from Zika and do not care if the unborn is afflicted with birth defects. This includes Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS).There is no doubt the GOP knew that adding a planned-parenthood provision would kill the bill and cause harm to citizens.
How is that pro-life? -
-
How does funding Planned Parenthood protect people against Zika?

And, in this one they are not just harming the living, they are also putting all fetuses at risk of serious birth defects. This is inexcusable. There is no way they can honestly say they are pro-life.
From: http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/birthdefects/microcephaly.html
Some babies with microcephaly have been reported among mothers who were infected with Zika virus while pregnant. CDC scientists announced that enough evidence has accumulated to conclude that Zika virus infection during pregnancy is a cause of microcephaly and other severe fetal brain defects. -
It's most important to pass a bill.
Fight the Planned Parenthood fight another day. We don't have time to waste with the Zika virus. -

Yet the title of the article says:
Senate Democrats Block Zika Bill Over Planned Parenthood Provisions
Democrats voted against this bill only because one of their major donors, the biggest abortionists in the country, were excluded. IOW, they put their love of PP above public health concerns.
See how it works? -

You know it and so does everyone else.
Shameful. -
They can't even take responsibility for their own vote. Yes, the bill was laden with pork, it is an appropriations bill after all. But they could have voted for the bill except Planned Parenthood is one of their biggest donors, and they can't have THAT.
-
Defunding PP was always a poison pill, and the GOP knows it. The Dems know it.
I have no love for Planned Parenthood at all, but the GOP KNEW this would happen. They orchestrated it to make the Dems look bad.
Both sides pull this garbage, and it annoys me from both ends. Just pass a Zika bill. Then try to pass a PP bill.
But as-is, slapping a PP defunding rider on a bill is like shooting it in the face with a .357 Magnum. It's going to be DOA.

OMG, you can sure tell you're "pro-choice" with this "fetuses" language. For starters, all "fetuses" are not at risk just because your party wouldn't pass the bill and it'll never happen that Planned Parenthood protects fetuses in any way. It's just a cash cow. -
Hypocrisy at its finest.
Just another example why it means NOTHING when the GOP speaks of being pro-life. One of the biggest lies ever told. -
So disgustingly partisan that the Senate Democrats would rather see the lives of the "blobs of tissue (in Democrat language) put at risk of being malformed by this disease than see PP discontinued with tax-payer funding.
Hypocrisy at its worst.
Just another example why it means NOTHING when the left speaks of being pro-choice. One of the biggest lies ever told. -
Just [Edited]. Nice attempt to spin, but we ain't buying it. -
Who's this "we" you speak of? You have a rodent in your pocket?
No, the spin (yours) is that the GOP put politics over funding PP but the reality (not yours) is that the Democratic Party put politics over not funding PP. Even the title of YOUR thread is YOUR spin. -
Again, stop with the spin. You're failing miserably. Everyone can see that there was a plan to provide funding to combat the Zika virus and the GOP attached a poison pill to keep it from passing.
Disgusting.
