 It's sad. All these folks are jumping in because they figure they may as well position themselves for a nice payday post 2016 election cycle. They know
they are not going to win. The GOP knows that Hillary will win
The Dems aren't even putting anyone out who will challenge her. Bernie Sanders doesn't stand a chance but he has staked out a corner to the left of Hillary that O'Malley now can't have.
O'Malley is essentially running for VP which I'm sure a lot of folks are already aware. He doesn't help Hillary get a needed state. But she pretty much doesn't need his help to win.
If Hillary wins then what that says about the state of our nation is nothing short of tragic.
She is one of the most corrupt political actors to EVER appear in our country.
She is arrogant in the extreme thinking herself above the law.
Only 40 years ago someone who was guilty of FAR less resigned in disgrace because even his own party wouldn't protect or support him.
The fact that someone like Hillary could even sniff the Dem nomination demonstrates a COMPLETE moral collapse within that party.
BTW, if the GOP simply runs out another establishment progressive then Hillary probably will win.
The media will favor her regardless.
Establishment candidates cannot differentiate enough to overcome that.
Paul, Cruz, Perry, Rubio, and perhaps a few others who actually believe what they're saying and ARE different substantially from progressive liberals... can win.
If every election since Reagan has taught us anything... it has taught us that the GOP must run a "moderate" to win is a total fallacy.
The GOP must run a constitutional conservative that BELIEVES what they say and will act on it.
Perhaps but I always picture the Crab as a sad, lonely man, disillusioned by the failure of Obama to make a Marxist stare rise from the ashes of the Republic he is so busy destroying!
Paul just shot his wad on the Senate floor!
He will never get the Republican nomination.
He may pull a Ross Perot, run as a libertarian, and give the election to another Clinton just as Perot did!
She's no worse than her many friends in the GOP. She just happens to be the one that they and the REAL powerbrokers want as the figurehead for the next 8 years.
Stop. The GOP
nominated a Mormon and then parroted the FOX line that they were electing a President and not a priest. If there is a moral collapse, it's collapsed in both parties.
Nope. There are far more Hillary types than there are GOP types. She's got history on her side coupled with the fact that the majority of Americans simply don't like what the GOP stands for. In terms of likeability, the GOP gets an F-.
The party is viewed as elitist, mean and nasty and only concerned with issues and not people.
There is no combination at this point that gives the GOP a win other than them doing some massive cheating.
Doesn't matter. The Bush years and the Obama years have produced enough new young voters and older first time voters who are disgusted by the GOP's anti-certain people persona that the GOP is simply outnumbered.
One of the reasons the GOP is REALLY so anti-immigration amnesty is that they realize these folks will vote for the Democrats. You can't make up any ground nationally if more and more folks are being added who will vote for your opponent.
Of those four, only Rubio can win. Cruz is too abrasive, Paul does not have the foreign policy positions the GOP holds to, and Perry has already tried running, if he runs again his opponents will pull out the video of him not being able to answer a question in the debates.
Rubio is young, dynamic, articulate, and has a great working class backstory. Plus he's not white. If Hillary is the nominee, the Republicans need to run someone with youth and enthusiasm. Rubio fits that bill to a T.
I'm not saying Rubio is my candidate, but he could beat Hillary. So could Scott Walker.
