Would it be against your religion to come home and find your wife or daughter in the process of being raped, and to blow the brains out of the thug(s) doing it?
Guns you own?

I have a S&W .38 Bodyguard Airweight model 642 - stainless
and a Belgium Browning auto- 5 12guage shotgun approx. 60 years old. 1954 or 1955 -
The kind that work.
Although, according to the folks that say that guns kill people, the above
statement is false.
But anyways, yay for hunting season! -
I love my .357sig Glock. It is my concealed carry of choice.
I have all the long, short, medium and such guns too. If you want to find out who I am and come take my guns.......... c'mon.... make my day! -
I have the mother of all squirrel guns, a d-barrel 410 gauge. Some might argue in favor of a .22, with the woods being crowded during hunting season, the.22's long range and ricochet hazzard make it less desireable from my view point. I also have a .22 and it is a joy to shoot.

Double-barrel 12 ga. and a .22 (and, yes, I can find the ammo).
Yes, I am armed! And according to our culture, since I's a Christian and believe in the narrow-minded truth that Jesus is the only way to the Father, I AM DANGEROUS! -
12-gauge, single shotgun.

I am like Don Knotts, My whole body is a weapon.........:)
12 gauge pump
22 rifle with scope
25 pistol semi-auto
38 6 shooter pistol.
Other than that I have a double edge sword, that hangs over my head at the computer.
Other than that a whole bunch of butcher knives.
But, I am a peaceful man.......;) -

You dont want to know. But this post gives me a good feeling about the security of this country. Its nice to know that if a foreign invader or our own government for that matter, decides to threaten the security of our free state, a well regulated militia in waiting for them.
Hear that Hillary? -

Thanks for these two points; I really don't believe that the majority of folks REALLY know why the libs are so afraid of our guns and want to de-franchise the 2nd.
Hopefully this will enlighten them. -

What makes me a little anxious is that some of the posts almost make one feel like the posters are just waiting for some one to give them excuse to use their armoury.

Have none, never had one, never will have one .. and still living in a relatively peaceful country :)
As we approach our federal election there is a political party standing candidates called "The Shooters Party". Proably don't need to be a genious to guess what they are in favour of, but every time one of them opens his mouth I see very strong arguments for very strict gun control ......

I can think of little, less appealing than having to kill someone, forever settling their position with God. But one less appealing thought is for them to kill one of my family. I hope none of us ever has to make that decision, but I'll be as ready as possible, within the confines of law, should that happen. It is my responsibility before the Lord.

For those that glorify or delight in this action: You've never shot anyone, and seen the consequences.

For those not living in the States, you may never understand the complex relationship between gun ownership and Americans. I don't think I could even put it all in this post. But start with Ps104_33 post to get an idea.

I'm planning to buy a new shotgun for home defense within the next couple of months and I'm torn between two models:
The Remington 870 Marine Magnum appeals to me with the very solid construction, the Remington name, and the lethal looks that might make the bad guys run before I pull the trigger.
But I also hear very good things about the Mossberg 590A1 and its incredible reliability, better placement of the safety, ghost sights, and lower price. It also doesn't hurt that the U.S. military has carried them for years.
Shotgun Willie mentioned he had an 870 early in this thread. Does anyone have the Mossberg or an opinion in this matter?
FYI, I'm not the "BaptistBeliever" (no space) that suggested that owning a firearm revealed an intent to murder others. -
When I made the comment about "make my day"..... it was using humor. I've been in the emergency medical field, and have personally been the one responsible for the care of two gunshot victims... and it is not pretty nor enjoyable. One head shot, DOA.... and one who bled to death with a fatal shot to the neck. It would be absolutely horrible to have to shoot someone, but it would be more horrible to have someone shoot my wife or daughter.
