I received this via email this morning. It is obviously a scam. I checked it out truthorfiction.com.
I am curious if others have received similar scams. Many people havelost hundreds of thousands of dollars as a result of these scams. Here is what I received:
"My Lordship,
Calvary greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I am former Mrs Fatima Aisha Momoh, now Mrs Mary Momoh, a widow to Late Sheik Mohammed Momoh, I am 72years old, I am now a new Christian convert, suffering from long time cancer of the breast. From all indications, my condition is really deteriorating and is quite obvious that I may not live more than six months, because the cancer stage has gotten to a very severe stage.
My late husband was killed during the Gulf war, and during the period of our marriage we had a son who was also killed in a cold blood during the Gulf war. My late husband was very wealthy and after his death, I inherited all his business and wealth. My personal physician told me that I may not live for more than six months and I am so scared about this.
So, I now decided to divide part of this wealth, by contributing to the development of evangelism in Africa, America, Europe and Asian Countries. This mission which will no doubt be tasking had made me to recently relocated to Nigeria, Africa where I live presently. I selected your church after visiting the website for this purpose and prayed over it, I am willing to donate the sum of $10.000,000.00 Million US Dollars to your Church/Ministry for the development of evangelism and also as aids for the less privileged around you.
Please note that, this fund is lying in a Security Company in Switzerland and the company has branches, therefore my lawyer will file an immediate application for the transfer of the money in the name of your ministry. Please, do not reply me if you have the intention of using this funds for personal use other than enhancement of evangelism.
Lastly, I want you/your ministry to be praying for me as regards my entire life and my health because I have come to find out since my
spiritual birth lately that wealth acquisition without Jesus Christ in one's life is vanity upon vanity. If you have to die says the Lord, keep fit and I will give you the crown of life.
May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.
I await your urgent reply.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs Mary Momoh.

Yes, this is a scam. I have received it about 20 times.

It's a scam? Oh, no! I've already sent my bank number!
This is a cynical twist on the infamous Nigerian money laundering scam, which is still alive (I suspect mostly from practical jokers) despite warning upon warning.
From the truthorfiction site:
Sad, sad.
"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Spam. Sadly from a Christian perspective, but it only shows the depravity of man to prey on unsuspecting (and often gullible) believers.

Yes. They've even heard all the way out in India that I'm a great man of God. I could have just chalked it up to translational differences and accepted the compliment if they hadn't called me Sir! :D

Yes Spam, I have had quite a few like this, but Mail Washer sorts them for me.

I have received several like that.
It goes to the trash bin. -
I've received right many. I always send back an email with the plan of salvation. I've never received a reply though. :(

I've received several of the sort. Even had a few by "snail-mail" from the Nigerian people a few years back.
People who do not know God will do all kinds of things for their purposes in the name of God. Seem to me there is a commandment that refers to this. ;)
I also have have panhandlers tell me a sad story -"swear to God" they say. Hmmmmm....
The most honest beggar I have ever seen was a guy in Dallas, TX, who used to hold up a cardboard sign --"Why lie? I need a beer."
Sadly, his integrity is higher than many Christians today. :(
