The basic problem is that they chose to no longer accept that the Bible is inspired and infallible, and denied Jesus knew what he spoke about here, so basically now worship at alter of science!

Even his own vaunted dating methods have us believing that somehow fossils on bottom are as old as ones found in top layers, how can that be?

Moon is moving 2.5 " apart from earth every year, IF billions of years old, would have snapped away like a rubber band!
Also, Lunar module had those big supports on end of legs as extreme age of moon meant expected 30-40 ft deep of moon dust, but only found it few inches deep!

Out of curiosity I asked AIG and, in addition to the Morris Study Bible, they recommended the MacArthur Study Bible, the Reformation Heritage Study Bible, and the Ryrie Study Bible.

No, I do not know what changes were made from 1st to the 3rd edition. That would be a good question to send to the Institute for Creation Research.

At this point, I am impressed with ICR for the following reasons.

    1. ICR is an intergenerational Christian education organization. By that I mean to say there appear to be several generations of the Morris family involved in the ministry over many decades.
    2. ICR appears to follow a slow growth expansion program. I know nothing about their financial situation. But I would be surprised if they have much debt to speak of.
    3. The current ICR staff appear to have education credentials, which support their ministry.
    4. ICR appears to believe parents and extended family members (i.e., grandparents and great grandparents) have the right to select the education path for the family children--be it public education, private education, or home school.

    Thanks for this information.
    • --> I have a copy of the KJV Morris Study Bible on the way.
    • I have a copy of the original MacArthur Study Bible (NKJV) in my library.
    • --> The KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible looks interesting from what I can tell by the online excerpts. I will have to look further into this study Bible.
    • I used to have a copy of the KJV Ryrie Study Bible in the past, but passed it on to someone else.
    :)

Link to the KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible.

A longer review of the KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible.

This is probably a popular study Bible over at The Puritan Board--just a guess.

I am expecting a copy of the Henry Morris KJV Study Bible to appear on my door step tomorrow.

Looking forward to some thumb-thru examinations of this study Bible.

I will try to post a short review later in the week.

Please let me know if there are particular notes or aspects of this study Bible where you want me to take a close look.

    This is an exciting time--

Will I keep this study Bible?
    Will I return it?
Will I place it on the stack of other Bibles and books I am reviewing?

All good questions to consider when my dog and I take our morning walk.
If you are not busy--why don't you join us on the log?

    My personal observation.

The Henry Morris Study Bible, King James Version is a nice addition to the personal library of any Bible lover. Placing this Bible on the King James Version section of my personal library will be a honor for this Bible lover.

Do I agree with all 10,000 notes and 19 appendices?

Ask me in a decade from now -- every year of the 2020s, I will need to read 1,000 notes and 2 appendices.

A daunting task, to be sure.

I spent some time last night with The Henry Morris Study Bible, KJV.

    This study Bible is good.
    Well made.
Thick paper with round corners. And none of the pages stick.
Large font (both text and notes).
Notes are well written and show the benefit of excellent editing.

Of course this study Bible is literal and supports traditional Christian interpretation. The kind of study Bible every home should have for home study, home schools, private Christian schools, and public schools--and I could go on and on and on.

And while I am sharing, I suggest you catch up with some educators and see how well home schooling prepareds young people for life here on God's good earth. And yes, most children do not really need the sports this and that.

If reading this post bothers you, gets in your crawl, or makes you see red--I am sorry.

You did not find so far "ignorant theology" in the notes have you? As some see any of us daring to hold to a literal view of Genesis being such!

I bought one a good six weeks ago and opened the box and did little else. Have been working overtime since the first of November and still am so I don't know when I will be able to read the new study
Bible but I am very happy to have it! Of course, I have been a YEC, or Biblical Creationist, since my visit to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter over two years ago. I was fortunate enough to hear Dr. Terry Mortenson in a free lunchtime lecture in Legacy Hall of the Creation Museum. He discussed the beginnings of formal geology during the Enlightenment, a very backward scientific age. We know now from American science that Darwin's evolution is scientifically impossible. I was very pleased to learn that Dr. John Whitcomb lives here in Indianapolis. He still has a radio show. I am no more than three hours away from the Creation Museum but I haven't been back. There is a program on the Red Sea crossing on Feb. 7 but I haven't decided if I will go or not. Probably not. The car goes in the shop tomorrow for routine maintenance but it is kinda old for a winter trip and so is the driver.

Morris came to MABTS when I attended there for Chapel and was very good for 3 days.

I deevolutionized my children before they were born. Even was called to school a couple of times. They didnt know how to handle it
