So do we begin to open areas?

    The answer is “with caution”

Begin opening businesses in areas with low incidence of disease. Carefully observe the response and be ready to react.

Schools can wait until next semester if things improve.

Sure, with only 2 weeks left in the school year, let's open up and have children mingle with others then go home to mom and dad.

Recent studies are suggesting children actually don't infect adults. Another bizarre attribute of this virus. Perhaps because children are already so immune they kill it before they spread it.

Since the incubation time is 2 to 14 days maybe we should wait until June 1st and see if cases increase.

Keep your fingers crossed, I guess. Maybe some terminally ill patients will contract it.

I don't understand the snarkiness. Your insinuation that I want to see more people die is repulsive.

I'm all for opening up the economy. I've said so on this board plenty of times and said it fairly early.

It's too early to declare victory. Also, each state, city, and rural community is different so just because certain areas have had success does not mean it's safe to open up everywhere.

Relax. It's usually you guys that are accusing everyone else of wanting death. I'm using sarcasm and irony.

I'll look for it. It's been on the news quite a bit. Apparently children are not transmitting this to adults.

Please show me where I accused anyone of wanting someone to die.

I have pointed out numerous times that the death rate is not the relevant statistic.
I have pointed out numerous times that Covid-19 is not the same as the flu.

Here's one article that goes into a little bit.

No one will go as far to say children cannot carry and transmit, but it appears the incidence is very low. My guess is because children crush this thing very fast.

The irony in all this is, kids might be the real secret weapon against this virus. This may be why opened states seem to be have such great success. Kids are now able to play and spread antibodies. The last thing this virus wants is to run into kids.

I really have no desire to sift through posts to see if you ever personally accused us of wanting to throw grandma under the bus. I'll have to take your word. Hopefully, if you feel strongly about this, you've rebuked harshly those who did do it.

Once again, news reporters often have no scientific background and are generally unreliable.

From the CDC (Updated to May 15, 2020)
Healthcare facilities should ensure that infection protection control policies and universal source control are in place to minimize chance of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 among providers, patients, and families. For infection prevention and control considerations for infants born to mothers with known or suspected COVID-19, please visit Considerations for Inpatient Obstetric Healthcare Settings. For infection prevention and control considerations for other pediatric healthcare facilities, please visit Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Patients with Suspected or Confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Healthcare Settings.

You of all people? I recall quite a bit of snakiness from you. Especially when concerns about the negative effects of the shutdown are mentioned. Funny how you're so sensitive to it yourself.
