I think it might have been more realistic if most of the people were left instead of just a few. Always the pessimist, I know. ;)
Here's Something That Will Make You Think!!

Scripture says the flood took them away. The flood destroyed them. The reaper will take them in their sins at the end of time.
I agree with Baptist Believer that those taken were the lost.
I put this same question on the internet for a lot of different colleges and Therologians and most went the opposite but some
agreed that those taken are the lost to which I agree. It put all of them to studying and after a lot of study some emailed me
back that those taken were the lost. Some put it to their class to study. It is a good question for it sounds good to the ear to
hear we will be "taken" to Heaven so we go with that but after studying it closely that is not what the Lord said. -
Yeah! I noticed that too. -
Blessed be the tie that binds, I guess.

Brother Bob: //Scripture says the flood took them away. The flood destroyed them.//
Scripture says the flood took them away. God's ark saved them. -
I think those in the ark were aware ED! Also, they were lifted up up up!!!! -

Luk 17:28-30 (KIJV1611 Edition):
Likewise also as it was in the dayes of Lot, they did eat, they dranke,
they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded:
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodome,
it rained fire and brimstone from heauen, & destroyed them all:
30 Euen thus shall it bee in the day when
the Sonne of man is reuealed.
This is a parallel passage to the one in Matthew 24.
Brother Bob: //God's ark didn't save the ones the flood took away unawares!
Brother Bob: //I think those in the ark were aware ED! Also, they were lifted up up up!!!!//
By a similiar logic, those Sodomites LEFT TOWN and
Lot & his daughters were LEFT BEHIND.
Contranst this with the NOT USED Daniel and the Lion's Den,
the Three Hebrew children and the Firey Furnace.
In these cases God protected the HERO OF THE FAITH in
place, in the midst of the trouble.
I'm outta here at the first sound of the last trumpet of the
Church Age (AKA: Time of the Gentiles, Age of Grace, etc) -
the pretribulation rapture of the Church Age, saved elect saints -
Christ's coming shall not be a secert, it will be visible. Matt. 24:30 & Rev. 1:7 tell us, everyone of the world shall see Christ coming in the clouds with glory and power.
You cannot find two comings anywhere in the context of Matthew chapter 24. None of Christ's disciples were thinking of two comings. The teaching of two comings, it was not yet existed till 1,800 years later.
The context of Matthew chapter 24 and 25 focus on Christ's coming and the end of the age.
EE, HOW can you know Matt. 24:31 is 'pretrib rapture'?
So many times for 3 years, I told you, you break Hermeneutic rule - Intepretering in CONTEXTUALLY. You always saying Matt 24:31 is separated from Matt. 24:29-30. But you do not follow what Christ actual saying.
Over 90% of pretribs know Matt. 24:31 is posttrib gathering, but they saying, it is not rapture. They say, it is the gathering of the Jews, bring them back to Israel.
The context of Matthew chapter 24 and 25 apply to us as believers both Jews and Gentiles. We are God's elect.
Tim LaHaye is the perfect example of his books - "Left Behind" series. He believes those who are left behind are unbelievers will be left on earth to face seven year of tribulation period.
But, it is completely opposite as what Christ actual saying.
Bible Believer is right, Matt. 24:37-41 telling us, when the flood came, and it TOOK them AWAY, by killed them drown.
Luke 17:34-37 telling the same thing, disciples asked Christ, 'Where?' Christ asnwered them, where the body is, they shall be caught up for to be eaten alive by vultures follow at Christ's coming.
Remain of believers shall be enter the eternality kingdom with Christ on earth forever and ever.
I will discuss more on coming of Christ later.
In Christ
Rev. 22:20 - Amen! -
Deaf,
Let's check it out -- is Mt 24:31 "all Israel" being saved (Rom 11:26) and resurrected? Look at Psa 50:3-5. What do YOU see? Mt 24:31, right? Who is gathered in Psa 50:3-5? Them who "covenant with Me by sacrifice." Who is that? The only people David would have understood this to be would be Israel, right? The sacrifice was the Passover Lamb, no? Not Jesus -- not yet.
Try another one -- Isa 26:19-21. When does the "earth... no more cover her dead?" (26:21) After God comes out of His place and punishes the inhabitants of the earth, right? But who is it that is in the earth? "My people" -- Isaiah's people, right? Same as Dan 12. These prophecies are for ISRAEL, deaf -- NOT the church.
Can I tell you that no pretribber has a problem with the postrib resurrection for Israel. We aren't so concerned about Mt 24:31 -- we'll be gone. But know what? If you always reject dispensationalism, you will likely NEVER see that there are 2 events that appear to you to be resurrections.

I see that nobody argued AGAINST this 'pronoun antecedent'.
By what logic does one really think that the 'they' in verse 39
refers to the 'they' in verse 38? Doesn't it make more sence
that 'the them' in verse 39 refers to 'Noe' and his party? -
So Noah knew enough to build an ark and get everyone inside but did not have enough sense to believe God would carry out
the rest by sending rain from above. Huh! Noah and his family wasn't carried away but lifted up and then set down, the rest
were gone.
"38": For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
"39": And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
To say otherwise is to really be stretching it to fit!!!
50": The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
"51": And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
You think they will not be aware after the resurrection.
Luk 21:34
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.
Even though Noah and his family were on a ark they were still considered on earth. God said I will destroy man from the face of the earth but Noah found "Grace" in the eyes of God and eight souls were saved. You say Noah and his family were taken off the face of the earth. -
Make You Think
The reason no one argued against your misinterpretation of what
happened to those who were "TAKEN AWAY" in judgment is that Luke reveals: "On the same day Lot went out of Sodom...the fire and brimstone DESTROYED THEM ALL"!! (Lot was LEFT; KEPT ALIVE).
Read your Bible more carefully, my friend!! "On that same day (after Christ appears and the Jews begin to mourn), Christ PRESERVES THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO DIE (and thus be LEFT) AND RESCUES THOSE WHO MOURN AND BEG TO ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS IN ORDER TO STAND BEFORE THE SON OF MAN". Luke 17:27-30; Matt.24:30; Luke 21:36.
Those "LEFT" include ALL of Israel who will be saved and "kept alive" to populate the Kingdom after Christ "raises up and gathers all the saints from earth to heaven on the last day ... and sends the angels to gather us out of the 4 winds from all extremities of the heavens". John 6:38-40;
Mark 13:24,27; Matt.24:29,31.
You take so many liberties with God's holy word that I am left astounded!

I don't yet accept your argument, but I'm not going to argue against it until I finish my investigation. -
Make You Think
I see now it will be impossible for you to agree with Ed Edwards since he
puts the fulfillment of Matt.24:31 BEFORE the final 7-Year Period and makes it refer to the Pre-Trib Rapture; whereas you put its fulfillment AFTER this period and make it refer to the salvation of only the Jews.
You call me naive and make yourself the "real student of eschatology".
But tell me objectively: "Why would Jesus send the angels to gather
ISRAEL out of the 4 winds from all extremities of the heavens" AS YOU CLAIM ... and ABANDON the Saints ON EARTH????
Read your Bible more carefully, my friend!! "On that same day (after Christ appears and the Jews begin to mourn), Christ saves THE JEWS who are `willing to die' (and thus be LEFT) and RESCUES those who mourn and beg to ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS in order to stand before the SON OF MAN". Luke 17:27-30; Matt.24:30; Luke 21:36. Believers who "endure to the END" need not be re-assured that they will be saved!! Only the Jews
need to be re-assured "their redemption and kingdom are near" when they see "all these things happening ON THAT (LAST) DAY"!! Luke 21:28,31.
Those "LEFT" include ALL of Israel who will be saved and "kept alive" to populate the Kingdom after Christ "raises up and gathers all the saints from earth to heaven on the last day ... and sends the angels to gather us out of the 4 winds from all extremities of the heavens". John 6:38-40;
Mark 13:24,27; Matt.24:29,31.
It goes beyond my naivete to understand how you totally IGNORE the
Word of the Lord that the Saints will be "gathered by the angels from all
extremities of the heavens" AFTER the great tribulation; but BEFORE those LEFT BEHIND are rescued and kept alive ON THAT DAY to populate and inherit the eternal Kingdom on Earth!! Matt.25:32-34; Rev.21:24-26.

Amen, Brother Mel Miller -- Preach it!
Lot and his daughters were TAKEN OUT of Sodom.
The Citizens of Sodom, Gommorah, and the cities nearby
were LEFT BEHIND toast.
So it shall be in the pretribulation rapture/resurrection.
As Jesus said in Matthew 24:21-22 For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor euer shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those dayes should be shortned,
there should no flesh be saued: but for the elects sake,
those dayes shall be shortned.
Yes, the LEFT BEHIND are toast. The worse thing that ever happens in the
history of the world will happen those those LEFT BEHIND at
the pretribultion rapture; the best thing that ever happens in the history of
the world will happen to a group of people, in Christ, who are
alive at the pretribulation
rapture - they will be taken away from this world, given glorified bodies,
and NEVER DIE: not the first death, not the second death!
