If they so choose, that's up to them, but don't think for one second that I'm gonna have any pity for them when they try to force me, by laws or social pressure, to accept them as normal; AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
I'll gladly assist any who acknowledge that they have a problem and want help in overcoming, but the "We're here and we're queer" crowd gets nothing but scorn from me. -
Anyway, in answer to the question that God created homosexuals, does God create a child with no legs? Or did sin allow this to happen through the destruction of our gene pool?
Just because a man craves a man more than a woman, does not make him a homosexual. What makes him a homosexual is acting on the urges; just like a fornicator who acts on his urge with girls...or the child molester who acts on his urge to rape a child.
Many homosexuals who have become Christians have admitted that homosexuality was often caused by something that happened in the child's past (possibly a bad experience with women or a woman). But, it is a desire that can be changed.
I also believe that homosexuality often is related to the drug scene and sexual experimentation. Drugs can cause inhibitions to drop so someone will want to try something different. This is the reason pornography has been linked to homosexuality in certain cases, because once a person continues to get a new thrill, they continue changing and getting more perverted.
The bottom line, it all comes from desire, and whether or not we react to those desires is the problem. Just remember that Jesus said that committing adultry in your mind is the same as doing it. I honestly feel He is referring to dwelling on a desire, not a passing thought that is uncontrollable. In other words, you cannot keep a bird from landing on your head, but you can sure keep him from building a nest there.
I honestly believe what Jesus is talking about is dwelling on someone you work with (for instance) and fantasizing about them. This would definitely be sin. But, since man is born with a sin nature anyway, well, it really doesn't matter until that person becomes a Christian.
Sure, Jesus would deal with the homosexual, like the adultress. "You are forgiven because of your faith in Me, now go thou and sin no more." (paraphrased) -
Having said that, salvation removes condemnation. Biblical salvation requires that repent of their wicked ways and believe in Christ to keep them from returning to their wickedness.
Homosexuals (queers) are not created, they are formed by the sinful nature of mankind. Just as alcoholics (drunkards) are not created, but formed by sinful nature. The cities of Sodom and Gommorah were full of queers. They would not repent, so were destroyed by fire. Homosexuality (queerism) is an abomination unto God (Lev 18:22) and the abominable shall have their part in the lake of fire (Rev 21:8).
The only escape from such a horrible fate is salvation from sin. There is no such thing as a 'saved queer'. -

The thing about homosexual sins is that it is unnatural. The Bible NEVER calls it common, as Lacy does, and surprisingly John applauds.
Homosexual sins are so unnatural, that the natural man knows better.
Heterosexual sins are natural, but outside of the marriage bonds. There is everything wrong with any kind of homosexual temptation. -
DD,
Man, I totally agree that it is unnatural. That's why they call it "queer". I never said the sin was natural. I said the temptation was common. (Actually I just quoted Scripture.)
You can't help it if a bird flys over your head. But you are responsible if he builds a nest in your hair.

I would then try to put him in contact with others who might have a better understanding of his position. This is not something we deal with every day. There are ministries that specialize in reaching homosexuals.
There was a good article about this in Baptist press this week.

Can I post the entire article here? I will go ahead and post it but if we are not supposed to do that then would one of the moderators please delete it?

Huh??? I never called it anything but a sin. Neither did I call it common. PLease don't put words in my mouth.
Heterosexual sins are natural? Only in the fact that sin, by virtue of our sinful nature, is natural. However, I think it's scripturally wrong to say that heterosexual sin is more natural tha homosexual sin. Jesus even made a point to address that, if we even look at a woman lustfully, we commit adultery. No, sex in marriage is natural. Anything else is unnatural. -
John, I meant to say that heterosexual acts are natural, just sinful outside of marriage. Homo acts are sinful in every context and is so unnatural, that the natural man knows better. So homo sin is worse.
-
I respectully disagree. The only natural sexual act is between a man and a woman, with the proverbial ring on the finger
-
Agreed, Johnv, in God's eyes all sin is bad. Although we put levels of punishment on sin, look at it like a chain with each different sin as a link. One sin and we loose the entire chain. The first sin wasn't so bad, was it?
Adam and Eve certainly didn't kill anybody (well, except the punishment killed the entire human race). In God's eyes, that one sin corrupted mankind. What was the sin, simply doing something God told them not to do. -
I gotta go with DD on this one.
I believe that the scripture that says, "as it was in the days of Lot" applies to this day. We are living in a time where Sodomy is rampant. We need some answers for the few brave souls who come out of that lifestyle and embrace Christian holiness. We also should assume that our children and grandchildren are going to come face to face with it. (It's all around us.)
It will be a common temptation in our generation. Perhaps it is the evil zeitgeist of our day. Our families and churches are not immune. Be ready with an answer.
It's a horrible sin but not an incurabble disease, or a genetic defect. The Holy Spirit is well able to deliever one from this giant. We are not dogs that bow reverently to the God of our flesh with all it's whims and lusts.
(Sorry, I got to preaching.)

You are certainly correct, Johnv. We just got our "natural" wire crossed with our "common" wire and shorted stuff out!
DD, if you don't think a sin can be both common and unnatural, you have probably never walked around in Deep Ellum near downtown Dallas. :D

I was pointing out what Lacy also pointed out: men and women each have natural sexual uses. Those were ordained by God. Homo sex acts are unnatural even for the natural man.

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Homosexuality is absolutely a common temptation. -
Maybe for men. -
