I personally do not believe in drinking alcoholic beverages. I believe it can hurt a Christians testimony because it can cause others to "stumble and fall". I just wondered what others think about Christians drinking. Do you think it hurts a Christian's testimony or not?
How do you feel about drinking alcoholic beverages?

If Jesus can make wine and has no problems serving it to his guests - who am I to disagree???
All things in moderation :D :D -

I feel better about it after I've had one than before. -
Well, I fully believe in Christian liberty. Certainly, we have a certain amount of lee-way. However, Paul also said that even though all things were lawful for him they all aren't beneficial. I consider drinking alcohol one of those potential things.
1. The person that sees you buying it doesn't necessarily see it associated with a Christian.
2. The people seeing you drink it, depending on the situation, may also not see that.
3. My dad taught me growing up that it's better to err on the side of conservativism, then to get so close to the line that you stand a chance of falling over.
4. Jesus prayed, "lead us not into temptation.." I think that the closer we put ourselves to the possibility of excess, the further we are from meaning such words in our own prayers.
Anyway
In Christ,

I drink and have no problems with other christians who do so as well, as long as it's not overdone.

I enjoy the occasional brew. Very occasional, like maybe once every 3 months I will have a beer.
But, I am very careful who I have a beer with. I am also very careful to not have too many.
I come from a long line of alchoholics, & have experienced a lot of problems in my life due to excessive drinking. It is so rare for me to drink nowadays, that I consider myself a non-drinker. -
I am closing this topic here, and moving it to "General Baptist Discussions", where I feel it will be more appropriate.
