Personally, I spend time planning little things that make my kids miserable.
Tonight's best was "losing" that one certain white shirt that the eldest MUST have to wear to school tomorrow. Second best is going to be telling the same child to WEAR SOMETHING ELSE AND GO TO BED CAUSE IT'S NEARLY 11 PM!!!!!
:D
(I really didn't know she even had a white shirt, but of couse it's still my fault that she can't find it so I might as well take credit for it) -
I put on the headphones and let either the classical or baroque mucisians played by European orchestras take me away.
Curling up with a good book at the same time is double the pleasure.
Then again, taking my boys out to the lake, or hiking in the woods, or just about anywhere will also do it for me. -
Fishing.
For men at the local jails andprison.
Fishing.
For those slimy things in the water.
Fishing.
For "fights" on the BB.
Fishing.
For compliments on my cooking.
Fishing.
For what's on the better half'smind.

I'm curious. Does no one else but me find being with their spouse relaxing? Does everyone here have a tense marriage?

I practice Karate (Kenpo). Gotten out of the habit with a recent move and all, but really should get back to it.
Any sparring partners out there in Southern Missouri? -

Hanging out with my family.
Going bowling with some guys from my church (I'm surprised no one else mentioned bowling!).
Old movies. -
Not a tense marriage Helen, but we do have very different ways of relaxing.
He likes to hold the couch down, snoring all the time, while having some awful something on the sci fi channel playing in the background. He also has a sixth sense about someone reaching for the remote: "mumble, mumble, I SAID DON'T CHANGE THAT CHANNEL! I'm watching that!".
I can't hardly stand the stuff on sci fi and don't really like TV much anyway and certainly don't want to listen to him snore while watching something I'm not enjoying, sooooooo, I find other things to do.
Now together, T and I do karate. :) We don't beat each other up......much. :D -
I have a wonderful marriage, but Ron and I are as different as night and day. To relax, we may well do different things -- we may do the same thing. If I go with him to play golf -- he's relaxing and I'm tense. I love the time with him which is why I go, but relaxing would not be how I'd desribe the day.

OK so my humor bone is a bit twisted...Helen said,
'Course, when the wife wins every bout, then Karate might look less attractive, eh Lagardo?
:applause:  -
Easiest way to unwind?? Be like me. I always have been 'a little loose'. So don't be "wrapped real tight", in the first place, and you seldom have to unwind.

Ditto Mr. Sutton! :)
Did Helen say cuddling with your spouse? Well, that depends on whether or not the TV is on. If it is, I don't exist! ;) -

As strange as it sounds, to unwind and relax, I do something really aggressive... mountain biking, riding four wheelers, etc. Some of us who deal with A.D.D. love the adrenaline, which is the chemical compound that Ritalin is trying to mimick, they're almost identical. After I do something like that, everything is clear, I can think straight, and I feel totally calm. I go crazy sitting in front of a computer all day, but I feel great while dodging trees at 25 mph.

I once went to seminar where several multi-degreed black belts were there to spar with us lowley colored-belt students. There was a husband and wife who were both very good. I got paired with the wife and one of the instructors, a nice elderly gentlemen, came and said:
"I bet you've always been told to never hit a woman. If I were you, I'd hit her if you get the chance...cause she's about to kill you." -
Don't ban me. Someone had to say it. -
