Thanks in that thread you stated:

We seem to be in agreement.

    Agreed.

Just to play the other side for a moment. How would you respond grammatically to the following argument?

Colossians 2:13. He has quickened us having forgiven all our sins.

    A. This seems to indicate that quickening is predicated on being forgiven.

    B. And being forgiven is predicated on faith (justified by faith).

    C. So we are both quickened and justified through faith.

(Though we know also that faith (and repentance)too is/are the gifts of God wrought by His Grace alone.

not saying this is my position, but asking you where the error is, if applicable

The word for "quicken(ed)" in Colossians 2:13 actually means to be made alive. It is not the same as quickening or illumination in the Ordo Salutis.

made alive would be regeneration, yes?

and to quicken is the act of quickening...always means “to make alive”.

Paul didn't just cite Scripture, though, he persuaded and reasoned from Scripture. It would seem logical for us to do that same. Citing Scripture, in and of itself, is not necessarily evangelizing or sowing. Listening and learning where people are at, and then reasoning with them from Scripture is evangelizing.

Yes, this often also will fall on deaf ears, but it's more inline with Paul's example.
