We have 2 children; a girl as the first born and a boy as the second. Couldn't think of any other kind so we stopped there. Our grandaughter (Wendy's child) is a college sophomore, and our grandson (Kevin's child) is 12 and a great second baseman.
Children/grandchildren are a wonderful heritage.

No kids here yet... I'm proposing to my girl this Christmas. But we've talked about kids, and how much we'd both like to have children... Kristi's even named them! Including some Biblical and family names, this is what we came up with (all with the last name Rhodes of course!), and I guess when we have children, we'll choose ones from this list (unless we get some more choices by then!).
My name is Joshua Rennon Rhodes.
Her name is Kristi Marie Kelton.
Joshua Caton
Caleb Rennon
David Kelton
Elizabeth Rae
Michal Lynn
Abigail Leigh
What do you think?

Three blessings that I utterly don't deserve but He gave anyway:
Asher Ong Yue Sheng (4 1/2)
Abigail Ong Yue Ning (2 1/2)
Isaac Ong Yue Kai (10mths. New this week, Sacky took 10 steps un-assisted! ) -
Su - decipher the names for us. Is "Ong" the surname or family name or "Yue" or ???
And love Isaac's nickname! -
Must not possess the paternal instinct. I can't recall a single moment when I ever wanted children. I don't believe being neutral on the subject is a good reason to have kids.

Su Wei---I attended the Stephen Olford Bible Institute here in the states recently---- www.olford.org ---- check it out! Met a Preacher and his wife from Singapore there---get this---I was eating lunch at the table with them and noticed on their name tags----his first name was David and hers was Doris!
I got to thinking and then I asked---"If you both are from Singapore, how did you both get American names?" They started laughing and then said, "These are not our real first names! We chose David and Doris to make it easy for you Americans to pronounce!!"
I have a girl age 12 and a boy age 9!! -

"Asher Ong Yue Sheng"
In Chinese names, the family name goes first. So if you've heard of YoYo Ma, he's actually Ma YoYo.
So our family name is "Ong". It means emperor.
"Yue" is the "generation" name. IT will be common for the siblings.
My common name that i have with my sister and my female cousins is the "wei".
My husband's sister's common name is "Chai".
One of the brothers in church says that his forefather, this grand patriach, had a list written out for his decendants ten generations down. So, whenever he meets someone with his family name and a generation name that he's familiar with comparing with his family's, he knows they may be related.
And then comes the personal name. Asher's is "Sheng" which is Victory.
Abi's is "Ning", which is Peace.
And Sacky's is "Kai", which is Joy.
All based on bible virtues. -
Well, it's not really just for Americans to pronounce. It's also, I guess, our mixed identities that we have so much English education that we like having English names.
I've resisted "giving" myself an english name. I'm Suwei. That's me. But I guess Su is pretty Englishy too. But people (including the Americans i've had the pleasure to meet) call me Suwei. (Pronounced Su Way.)
For our children we gave them what I like to think of as "Bible names", not "english names" to reflect our desire for them to love God and His Word. -
We have 2 adoreable girls and one angel in heaven.

We have two grandchildren living with us. My grandson is 9 and my grandaughter just turned 11.
