I take it way serious. As much as a variety of my other ministries. Really.
I started here in June 2000 as ill health had brought my ministries to a halt and the 'net was expanding. I am a mouthy and opinionated person and posted a lot.
Still do. As health returned in January 2002 I still was reasonably active. Sharing ideas, learning and growing, using my Greek/Hebrew background to help others learn and grow.
I take the responsibilities as Moderator and Administrator, given by the founder of the BB, very solemnly. Sometimes TOO much and am trying to cut more slack and work through some pm's rather than just cutting a post.
Seen a lot of people come and go, others drift in from time to time, and a motley crew of "regulars". ALL comprise the BB as a body and make us unique. -
Does anyone know the ratio of those that "pass through" and those that actually post?

I take the board seriously, although I do keep Acts 17:11 in mind. I do try to steer clear of certain forums, as the 'debates' seem to quickly break down into a shouting/name calling session.
Have I learned anything from what I've read here? Yes, I have. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I've changed my theology to any great extent, but I have begun to look at some things in a little different light.
God Bless!!!

Well, as of the other day it's the only one I post on. How seriously I take it varies, and how seriously I take the posts depends on who I'm talking to and what it's about.
My normal routine in the last two weeks is to read it twice a day. Once in the morning rather quickly between 6:30 and 7:15 am, and again sometime after 5:30 pm, although for the last two days I've been on more. Weekends I have more time, but nobody else posts much on weekends so it's rather boring.
Altogether, I suppose it must be my favorite board. It's good to have some moderation and know that you must exercise some degree of control or be held accountable for it. It makes for a few problems here and there on occasion, but overall it makes this board more enjoyable and organized.

ME? Take something serious??
Oh please stop it, you're killing me
welllll, ok, 99.9% of the time I like to clown around here, but if I do find myself in the middle of something serious I surprise everyone...especially myself ;)

I take this board very serious, it is not a play ground, it is a group of God's people discussing scripture, sharing what God does in their lives. This board has actively helped me thriugh some very tough times in my life, and thats serious.

I take the board fairly seriously. Specific posters is another matter.

I take the discussions very seriously, but when I see some of the posts I wonder if people take themselves too seriously, I'm serious about that now, I mean it! It's a serious matter when you don't agree with me, I can't believe people can be so oblivious to the truth, I'm serious. But I can be light hearted enough to jest a little to stir up the conversation to allow some one to see something about themselves that was once before covered in obscurity.

I take it seriously. Even though there is a lot to be disagreed with, there is a lot to be agreed with also. When someone says something and backs it up with scripture I am reinforced. When someone says something and their reasoning isn't quite what it ought to be and someone accurately points out the illogic with their argument I am also reinforced in my ability to refute that same argurment with someone in the "real" world. I must, at least like it here, as I am here everyday.

This board has some serious aspects, such as the feelings of it's members. I have learned to be respectful of everyone's feelings, because I realize that some of you Bozos wear your feelings on your sleeves and get your itty-bitty feelings crushed over the tiniest thing. - (I just said that for the shock effect).
In all seriousness, each member here is real, and for me, the most serious aspect is to keep that in mind when posting. After all, God made the ultimate sacrifice for each person here, so it should be important for us to post with discretion (something that I have had to work on).

Sometimes it is serious and sometimes it is layed back... Put your feet up on the footstool... Warm yourself by the fireplace and have nice cozy talk with others in the Lord... Just rest easy... AHHHHHH!... THEN ALL THE SUDDEN... You decide to visit the C/A Form... Before you jump in the fire put on your asbestos Sunday go to meeting clothes... It can get hot in there  ... When you feel you have a tough hide... Jump into another frying pan the BTV Forum... The KJV's and the MV's really got a battle going... But hey this is the Baptist Board... And I can tell you... You NEVER get bored here!... This place is fun... What a ride!... Hold on we are going in another tunnel of darkness... Then WWWWHHHEEEEE!... Out the other side... Wasn't that FUN! :D ... What a ride!... What a blast!... Sometimes a little to much for this 57 year old Moderator! ... BUT HEY I LOVE IT!
While I wait for the next ride to start... I will just put my feet up on the footstool... Warm myself by the fireplace and talk to the Lord and dream! ... Brother Glen -
I take my thelogy serious, so at times I guess I take the board serious. But I have learned that I will very very rarely change anyones mind so I tend to state my opinion salted with the cynical and humorous (I think it's funny anyway).
There are times I just want to say relax God is still on the throne -
I have learned alot from this board. I didn't realize that there was such a variety of scriptural interpretations (especially among Baptists) as there are. That has helped me though. I read the Bible with a little bit more of an open mind and not so closed minded as before. Sometimes we get insulated in our own little worlds and it is good to know that there is a whole world out there with varying degrees of knowledge, faith, and love. All we have to do is partake in the fellowship. I don't post alot but I do read the threads daily and I am often amused by the interaction between specific posters and others and I am sometimes equally apalled at the total lack of sincere love for your fellow man that occurs when disagreements arise and feelings are laid bare. But I have learned alot and I hope to learn more in the future. Y'all be good now ya' hear?

I don't know exactly what you mean. It's a message board. I've grown to like many posters and I've learned quite a bit. I mean, I take it as seriously as I can take a message board, maybe a bit more seriously than most, just by nature of the subject matter, but it's not my primary theological source, if that's what you mean.
Apparantly, I have not learned how to make short sentences. ;)
I think it's important not to take it too seriously, just as it's important to recognize that seriousness doesn't always have to be solemn and somber. -
Pretty serously for about an hour or two a day, if that long.

I love this board. It is the only bulletin board I post on or even visit. I probably read an average of 10 posts for every reply I make. I learn a lot. I don't always agree with everything, but the different views are crucial for me. As far as serious goes? SOme is very serious to me, but I also enjoy the polls and the hobbies and sports.
