What would a lost person perceive about the comments promoting gay rights? </font>
That's a secondary issue. That's something that needs to be straightened out after someone comes to Christ.
* Not on a Christian board!</font>
So then, if we have to be clean before we can come to Christ, what was the point of Jesus' dying?
We are all dirty and we are all wrong before we come to Christ. If He only accepts us in response to having a correct political view, that's not grace, that's patronage. If he only accepts us in response to our goodness, that's not grace, that's reward.
Gracious Mike! I used the * to show what I was speaking to! I firmly believe God accepts us Just As We Are! However, I do not think any sin should be spoken of in positive light on a Christian board.
Sorry you misunderstood! I would sit right next to a homosexual or prostitute in my church, hold their hand during fellowship time and invite them back!
I haven't been here for awhile...and think I must have missed a good deal. I had to smile when I read the above quote. It's something like saying, "some of my best friends are black." Why wouldn't someone sit next to a homosexual? It isn't catching.....at least not the last I heard. Let the smoker blow smoke in your face while you are trying to lead him to salvation....but watch out once he is saved....he can't do that anymore. Sheesh, isn't it our job to love them and Jesus' job to clean them up. Just asking....
Nope, no mistake.
I haven't seen Helen post for awhile, but I think I've only ever seen one post of hers that I disagreed with.
On the area that I particularly relate to(youth), she was so close to nailing how I feel about today's youth I felt like I could have written it.
just to clear up this off topic issue
that those now banned were defending homosexuality as not being sin and just another non sinful lifestyle choice, a person can play with semetics and say they were not promoting homosexuality but it will not fly. i have viewed the other liberal board and some of the names mentioned here that post the other board has shocked me as to where they stand , since they can pretty much over on the none thinking board spill out all the vile religionist garbage they can muster. read what they say and learn what they stand for, then mark them and avoid thier doctrine is the biblical thing to do
Sorry, but you are wrong again.
They were all banned for the same reason and it was NOT because they were liberals, like some are trying to make us believe.
You can put any connotation you want on it, but it will still be wrong for a Christian to go against God's Word in defending the homosexual's right to be that way because they were 'born' that way.
As massdak so eloquently put it, "It just won't fly"!
Again Sue that is not true.
I talked to Kelly and she did not.
Also she was not given any fair warning.
Just simply removed.
But then you said she had another job also, and she did not.
Also, Thankful and Jim and anyone I left out, I do agree...Joshua has been more than kind, and has never went out of his way to attack anyone.
He has always been a gentle soul, and have seen him more than once offer comfort to someone, and the first thing I have seen him do is offer prayer.
I have never seen him judge anyone.
Joshua and I do not agree on some things, but he has always been more christian to people on this board, than some others have.
We are suppose to be in the center of the world mingling!
We are to show God...Christ Jesus through our lives....that those who do not know him.....will come to know him.
We are to let the Holy Spirit work in our lives and lead, and teach us!
Not our I am better than thou attitudes.
If we disassemble ourselves from others, how will they know about Jesus?
How will they know how to act?
Why would they want to come to Jesus, when all we show is harsh words?
Jesus said Love!
He did not mean some, but everyone.
Love them better than yourselves.
How we treat people, or how we talk to them, represents the Lord.
God does not like the act of homosexuality, but He loves man.
He gave His Son Jesus for all men!
Stubbon Kelly was banned?
Wow, that's a blow, I really liked her posts.
I must have missed this whole mass banning thing.
Anone have a link to the board they frequent?
I think this song is relevent to what this board (and much of Christianity) is going through, courtesy of Relient K:
Christians-- we're all afraid of fire.
We prefer to suck on pacifiers.
Baby pacifists, we're throwing fits.
We don't shake hands, we shake our fists.
We're cannibals.
We watch our brothers fall.
We eat our own, the bones and all.
Finally fell asleep on the plane
to wake to see we're going down in flames.
We're going down, down, down in flames.
We're gonna drown, drown, drown insane.
We see the problem and the risk,
but nothing's solved.
We just say, "Tisk, tisk, tisk,"
and, "Shame, shame, shame."
Finally fell asleep on the plane
to wake to see we're going down in flames.
Christians-- we mourn, the thorn is stuck
in the side of the body watch it self-destruct.
The enemy is much ignored
when we fight this Christian civil war.
We're cannibals.
We watch our brothers fall.
We eat our own, the bones and all.
Finally fell asleep on the plane
to wake to see we're going down in flames.
We're going down, down, down in flames.
We're gonna drown, drown, drown insane.
We see the problem and the risk,
but nothing's solved.
We just say, "Tisk, tisk, tisk,"
and, "Shame, shame, shame."
Finally fell asleep on the plane
to wake to see we're going down in flames.
Let me pause to clarify
('cause I'm sure you're asking, "Why?").
I stand before you and proudly claim
to belong to what this song complains.
I'm part of the problem,
I confess,
But I gotta get this off my chest.
Let's extinguish the anguish
for which we're to blame,
and save the world
from going down in flames.
Lighten up girls,
Sherrie sees it one way and Sue sees it another.
I don't consider that lying or calling someone a liar.
It is a matter of difference of opinion.
