I'm going to show my age with this post, but this song by Andrae Crouch is such a beautiful reminder, to me, of the undeserved love and grace I received from God when Jesus went to the cross and died for me, 2000 years ago!
And like the chorus says, "I'm glad, so glad He did!"
I don't know why Jesus loved me
I don't know why He cared
I don't know why He sacrificed His life
Oh, but I'm glad, so glad He did
He left His mighty throne in glory
To bring to us redemption's story
Then He died but He rose again
Oh, but I'm glad, so glad He did.
SO, how do you feel about the fact that He not only loved you [before you were even on this earth], but that He cared enough for you to sacrifice His life for your sins, some 2000 years before you were born into this life? :praying:
It is my prayer that His love and favor continue to be your guide as you walk the narrow path His grace set your feet upon. Remember, it is only by way of this narrow path that we will reach the narrow gate and be received into heaven. [Matthew 7:13-14] :applause:

I Don't Know Why Jesus Loved Me?

I, too, Brother Paul, feel so unworthy of His grace, love, and mercy. To think that God sent the very best He had to offer, to die in my place, is truly AMAZING GRACE. I was all about self, and did not need Him(or so I thought). But He crushed my hardened heart easier than you can snap your fingers, and removed the broken fragments, and placed in me a heart of flesh.
Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because I owed a debt I could not pay. Heaven's best died for me? Wow!
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but know I'm found,
Was blind, but now I see.
Here's a song that some of the ORBs have lined through the years that's a DANDEE!! I have lined it a time or two, but I usually line the first two and last two stanzas only, because it is such a long song.
Beside the Gospel Pool
Beside the Gospel pool
Appointed for the poor;
From year to year, my helpless soul
Has waited for a cure.
How often have I seen
The healing waters move;
And others, round me, stepping in
Their efficacy prove.
But my complaints remain,
I feel the very same;
As full of guilt, and fear, and pain.
As when at first I came.
O would the Lord appear
My malady to heal;
He knows how long I've languished here;
And what distress I feel.
How often have I thought
Why should I longer lie?
Surely the mercy I have sought
Is not for such as I.
[/U]But whither can I go?
There is no other pool
Where streams of sovereign virtue flow
To make a sinner whole.[/U]
Here then, from day to day,
I'll wait, and hope, and try;
Can Jesus hear a sinner pray,
Yet suffer him to die?
No: He is full of grace;
He never will permit
A soul, that fain would see His face,
To perish at His feet. -
I heard Dr. Adrian Rogers say over and over
God doesn't love us because we're valuable----we're valuable because God loves us!!!!
