He surprised us by showing up at our church!!
It was so great to meet him!
I love being able to put a real person behind the name online.
Somehow I either forgot or never knew that he was so close to me.
:)
So have you guys met anyone else on BB??
I wish we ALL could meet in real life.
That would be quite the firecracker meeting, don't you think??
LOL
Can you mail these pics to me in the size of a scarecrow?? My father-in-law just planted his garden recently, and we need something to keep the vermin out of it.....LOL
Met around 10 total over the years, I think, but a few were people I brought that lived near me at the time. Most nice, only one couple turned out weird but even that was a learning experience so can't say I regret having met anyone.
The funniest was probably the Barnabas's. I'll never forget that...I drove up to NYC in my jammies because who wants to drive that far uncomfortable?
I called, we set up the meeting, I went to get my clothes out and had FORGOT TO PACK THEM! So I'm desperately rummaging and find an old wrinkly skirt in the trunk, then I've got three girls and get lost and am talking to Barnabas the elder on the phone in English and talking to someone on the street in Chinese to help me understand (I was in Chinatown) and then I go rushing off with three girls, exhausted, looking like a fool, and right at the end, my youngest is done walking so I'm carrying her and show up looking like a street urchin all sweaty and stinky and wrinkled and trying to get the girls (they were pretty young) to quit freaking out over that dude that's always out there in nothing but a pair of underwear and a cowboy hat playing his guitar.
Yet they were very gracious and kind. That was a relief. The girl's uncle met us there and it was really cool to have Barnabas bring up Christ to him, proves a good heart.
I believe that was before you joined. We used to go to Queens/Brooklyn to see relatives. Stayed for a bit at one point, just shy of changing addresses and staying but decided not to raise my kid in the city. (I was still pregnant with my first when we did the almost-move)
The three oldest girls and I may, just may, get out there within the next two years. We started talking about it a few months ago and we need to get to Ohio sometime within that time frame anyhow because I want my one daughter to look at a music college out there and we said we aren't going unless we also go to NYC too. LOL I'll let ya know!
Make your plans to come in Aug/Sep and to attend the Great New York State Fair - and we will have the entire NY BB delegation there for a meetup!
