As we all know there are many brands even in this sect of the Christian religion.
If I understand the Scriptures there is only one way to have salvation.
What do you folks believe that way is?
Thank you for your answers.
Iyyob
I would really like to know what Baptist believe.

Baptists didn't say it. God did. -
Just a note: The "Baptist Only" section is for Baptists only. You post your denomination as "exBaptist" so you should not post here in this section.
You're free to post in the "Other Christian Denominations" section.
As for salvation, I agree with the Bible and with Tom. There is only one way to salvation. One Way. -
The apostle Paul wrote much about the way to salvation.
Romans 10:9 Confess verbally that Jesus is Lord, and believe that he rose from the dead.
Ephesians 2:8-9 You are saved by grace, through faith, not of works.
Paul preached in Acts 20:21, Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now you have stirred my curiosity. Your profile says you are ex-Baptist. And you don't already know these things?
Please take Ann's suggest, go to the Other Christian Denominations section, and start a thread. Or maybe the moderator could move this thread there. I'd also like to know more about the House of Yahweh where you worship. -
Appears to be another nut-job cult:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Yahweh
Wondering why he is even posting here, considering that "The House of Yahweh" considers that we Baptists (and indeed all other Christians) worship a false God and will go to hell? -
-
Sorry will try to do better.
-
I will pray for this Iyyob to know the one true God. I pray that he/she will be delivered from this false and possibly dangerous cult. It's so sad when people who had known the truth leave that truth for a lie. :(
-
Now, as far as what I believe about you, I believe your elevator does not go to the top. -
Salvation is found in only one way.
Faith in Christ's ability to save and keep you. -
-
Your profile says that you are "exBaptist".
And now ??? you are asking what do Baptist's believe????
Isn't that something that you should have asked before becoming a Baptist?
Or while you were a Baptist?
Like I said - odd. -

Hello To All,
This is a good example of how one can be associated with the Church...and fall into error.
I have seen some of the House of Yahweh material, and would say that restoring this person (and I can not say dogmatically whether he is saved or not...God knows) should be of utmost importance.
It will be up to him to engage in doctrinal discussion, and I believe there are more than enough Christians well grounded in doctrine to help him.
I myself will put forth the challenge to this person to discuss salvation, and will be interested to see the response.
Let this be a good opportunity for the all the members of the Body to work together for an eternal issue...this man's restoration and possible salvation.
God bless. -
I know you will not believe the truth.
If you believed all that the prophets have spoken you would not a Christian.
Why?
Because your religion teaches against everything that the prophets and the apostles of the real Messiah taught.
According to your own Bible you are fools. Luke.24:25
Come see why.

Iyyob, my friend, please tell all of us how you believe one comes into a right relationship with God.
Also, tell us what you believe about Jesus death on the cross, and how it relates to our coming into that right relationship with God.
This is a discussion, right? -
Has anyone posted the Baptist Distinctives?
Here they are from the GARBC web site (PDF File):

Then you ask the one way to salvation:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

That The House of Yaweh cult seems very similar to the JWs.
