A Christian knows the truth and os owned outright by the Lord Jesus Christ. If he willfully slips into a cult the Lord just may turn his body over to Satan for its destruction. The man may lose rewards but never his salvation.

They never had salvation in the first place.
Joseph Botwinick -
quoted:They never had salvation in the first place.
You don't know that Joseph!
I lost my son and was angry at God for 7 years until I came back around. I even went to a Catholic church for a while when searching for answers. I just didn't care. I was saved at 14 yrs old. This happened at 33 yrs old.
I am saying you can't generalize and assume someone was never saved that slipped up and went into something else without knowing their circumstances. -
I don't have to. The Bible did it for me. Please see my post at the top of the page or just try reading the Bible sometime.

Ever heard of a backslider or a prodigal son? Saved but messed up. You are right that a child of God will not continue in sin but will repent. Alot of things can happen between sin and repentance. Like I said, I was out there 7 years. I WAS STILL SAVED!
Why don't you try reading the bible in context. You will sin till the day you die!
Alot of Christians have gone apostate. (Billy Graham for instance) I don't for a minute question his salvation. -
I heard true sad stories. In America, 90% of deaf baptists already converted to Mormons, because many mormons visited deaf baptist' house, convicted them to join Mormon church, many of them joined Mormon. Also, many deaf baptists already converted Jehovah Winess. JW's visit deaf baptist' house, JW's convicted deaf baptists join JW. Many deaf baptists already join Jehovah Witness.
Why many deaf baptists join Mormon or Jehovah Witness? Because most of them do not read or study Bible at their home. They know little of doctrines. That why they fell into their trap with false religions. Mormons use many verses in Book of Mormon, even, Mormons use KJV too, to witness deaf baptists. Sad. Are deaf baptists still saved while they are in Mormons or Jehovah Witness. No, I do not think so.
I will discuss about security salvation doctrine in another discussion area in Baptistboard with verses. Myself used believe in security salvation. Now, I am no longer believe in it. Bible warns of conditional salvation. Later, I will show you tons of verses in the Bible prove on conditional salvation.

You can twist the bible to say anything you want. The bottom line is that salvation is not of works. What makes you think you can work to lose it? -
How can we lose a gift?

We cannot lose something we never had.
Joseph Botwinick -
Quoted:We cannot lose something we never had.
You make it sound like some big complex thing to get saved. It is the simplicity of the cross that saves. Because a person slips into the world for a while may allow you to judge their fruits. Don't judge their salvation. That is basing salvation on works.
Quoted: There is a difference in messing up every now and then, and then making it your lifestyle. Further, true Christians will not continue in sin because we have the Holy Spirit to bring us to repentance.
When does a person cross your pharasee theology and never have been saved? Are you that much of an arm chair judge that you have the ability to determine that?
Quoted:We cannot lose something we never had.
Can't lose your salvation either! -
Joseph Botwinick -
What I am asking Joseph is what equips you to judge another mans salvation just because he has back slidden? Look at King David. Are you saying that if a man sins he can simply turn and repent? Is that the criteria you set forth? What is the time frame between sin and repentance before you decide someone wasn't saved at all?
-
I just can't imagine a saved Christian converting to Islam. Islam and Christianity simply don't teach the same things about God.
Only God would know this person's heart...

"They were not saved in the first place" That is common arguement by securists.
Luke 8:13: Heb. 6:4-6 telling us, many of them who were already taste of salvation for a short time, then fall away.
Obivous, in case, I have seen so many people who claim, they are saved, I notice them who were serious serve the Lord early in their Christian life, then later, they turn away, and backslidding back to the world, and remain in sin, not yet repentance, they are lost again according to Luke 15:11-32 of "lost son".
Later, I will discuss more on verses to prove conditional salvation.

Quoted by Joseph_Botwinick:"If a person dies in the lifestyle of sin without being bgrought to repentance by God, then I would argue they were never saved in the first place."
Once again you don't know this or haveany way to back yourself up. If the prodigal son had died while eating with the pigs he would have been lost?
By the way Joseph, Stop with your little digs like "Read the Bible and stop relying on your carnal emotions."
That is the second time when you haven't had something constructive to say that you revert to insults. Grow up! -
