I thought it would be great to get a jump on the season of political POLLS, by asking my brothers and sisters to cast up to three votes on such topics as the IMPEACHMENT? Re Election? And if Trump will in fact really run for another term?

Please take your time, and let's see how Christians, well at least the Baptist version of the Christian grouping, feels about the topics of the day!

    Shalom!

Keep in mind that "impeached" means only the House *voting* for a Senate trial, but not removal from office. That would result only after conviction by the Senate.

Might we also do a poll on which three choices would be compatible? :)

    Here is a thought:

May a person who has been elected as POTUS if he/she is impeached in their first term then removed from office by the senate RUN AGAIN at a later date?

IOW if Trump is impeached and removed from office can he still be on the 2020 ballot? 2024?

Depends. Seems they would have to specfically bar him. Here is some discussion on it.

Can an impeached President run for a second term?

If Trump is impeached, the Senate won't vote him out. I believe a few Dem senators, fearing backlash from their voterbase if they voted to remove him, would vote "No". And, despite their comments, about ALL GOP senators would vote "No" as well.

It takes 2/3 of the senators' voting "Yes" for removal from office, & there's no way that'll happen to Trump unless some other dark secret would be found against him.

I believe Pelosi yielded to pressure from some other Dems to begin an impeachment inquiry. I believe she knows there'd be a large backlash against the dems in general if an impeachment is enacted & a trial is held, even worse than the backlash against the GOP in 2000 for the impeachment of Clinton. (While Bush won POTUS, the Dems gained 13 House seats & control of the House, & also of the senate when Jim Jeffords (R-Vermont) defected to the Dems. I believe Pelosi, who has more political savvy than many of her fellow Dem Reps, knows a backlash would occur if trump were impeached before the Nov. election.

An impeached & removed federal official, including POTUS, may be barred from ever holding federal office again, by a subsequent vote, separate from the removal vote.

I agree with Robycop3, there will be no impeachment - its like the silver back gorilla with chest poundings.

There will be poundings, LOUD ROARS, teeth being bared, swinging though the trees, etc...
A FINAL TERRIFYING run , then nothing...

There wont even be a congressional vote for fear of names being recorded and reprisals taken.

I am confident he will be impeached. As of today, I think it is 50/50 that he will be removed from office after a trial in the Senate.

If the President is removed from office, he is going to be in deep legal trouble for charges that cannot currently be brought against him while in office.

Mr. Trump will not be able to run from prison.

    We will see.

    Don't count on it.

The President is not worthy of your well-intentioned faith in him.

Trump is far more honorable than any of those dems trying to impeach him.

He appointed two pro-life justices, one more and Roe v. Wade is toast!

Yes it is true there have been disappointments but the Bill of Rights is still intact thanks to Trump.

Disappointments in the RNC are the worst, the leadership are milquetoasts at best.
They are like mice huddling and hiding from the cat.

Trump (apart from a small handful on the hill) is truley alone - and no matter what one thinks of him he is a man of courage, a true patriot IMO.

Which will not stop abortions nationwide. Most states will continue to have legal abortions and there will be even more organizations that help women living in more restrictive states who want to have an abortion to obtain them in less restrictive states.

In Roman and Greek culture in the first century, abortion was acceptable until around 20 weeks of pregnancy. What eventually changed attitudes toward unborn children? The spread of the gospel throughout the Roman empire, not political activism. I suggest that as Christians we concentrate on the former and not the latter. And the white evangelical community allowing itself to become looked upon as just an adjunct to the Republican Party is not helping to spread the gospel.

"It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes." - Psalm 118:9(ESV)

There is no "should". Christians "may" be involved in political activities, but there is no Biblical warrant that Christians "must" be involved in any political activities.

Considering that gov’t is endorsed by GOD, and our gov’t is one that includes participation of the citizens, a christian SHOULD participate; at a minimum by simply VOTING!!!!
As for going into politics, that is a call for each individual to determine with GOD!
