I finally did it. I put a McCain/Palin sticker on the back window of my 12-year-old, beat-up van. I didn't for a long time because I thought getting a brick through my window was a real possibility. We'll see what happens. Talking with my neighbor, I found that he also will not put out any McCain signs for the same reason.
Might explain the disparity in the number of Obama signs vs McCain signs around here. Most signs are for Obama, but many yards are empty. This is the first election I've noticed something like that.
So this poll is for those McCain supporters in lower income neighborhoods like mine (27K-40K per yer). If you live in higher income, more civil neighborhoods, don't answer. McCain supporters, whether you've posted a McCain sign or not, do you feel that reprisal from supporters of the Democratic candidate more or less likely than in the last Presidential election?
Intimidation from the Left

I understand your concerns as they are the same reasons why I won't put a Obama/Biden sticker on my car or put an Obama/Biden sign in my yard.
Maybe one day we Americans will grow past this nonsense.
I hope no one damages your van, brother.
In my area there usually aren't all that many signs in people's yards or very many bumper stickers seen. The signs are usually at intersections. But with little in the way of any competitive races on the statewide or local levels and McCain a cinch to win Arkansas the political activity is way down this year. -

The wife and I were talking yesterday that we haven't seen any where near the signs of either party this time around. In fact totally few would describe it this year. Usually they are like lawn sprinklers.

I had two Gore stickers ripped off my car in the church parking lot in 2000 and I was a Deacon. Maybe we should abandon democracy. It doesn't seem to be working.

Aaron, I live in a mostly black neighborhood, and I definitely would not put up a McCain sticker! I'm supporting McCain, but I think it would estrange me from some of the new people who moved in. They may think I'm a white supremest or something.

He didn't stay. Sad, isn't it, that we use muscle and intimidation on one another over political stances? -
I know quite a few people who are afraid to put a McCain-Palin sign in their yard or bumper sticker on their car because of possible intimidation from Obama supporters. See, race does enter into this election, after all, whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

Some folks in Portland, OR had their McCain fire bombed just outside their home over the weekend. Probation offense here. Guys may not even be charged.

Since both major candidates are very liberal this year, I will skip the signs and bumper stickers until 2012.
