Invite Jesus Into Your Heart?

WAIT! Isn't it only addressing the local churches in Asia Minor in specific townships?

 

If Jesus is knocking it is because He knows "I will supernaturally DRAW ALL mankind unto Me" John 12:32 which supernaturally enables each one who is alone on the inside "to open" the door if they so choose.

Not everyone chooses to do so.

"He came to His OWN and His OWN received Him not" John 1:11

 

True, but the sinner still does receives the Grace of God applied towards him by God thru faith, its not say after me and recite, but still is the sinner responding to jesus after the Holy Spirit has quickened them to do so!

 

Revelation passage is addressing already saved persons, in a corporate church assembly though!

 

But don't calvinists say there are "warnings" in case there are "false converts" in the midst?

 

There are encouragements to make sure that our election and calling of/from God is sure....

 

So why couldn't this be the same thing in Rev. 3:20? Also, this seems to be Christ's final appeal in a general sense, not just the to Laodiceans...

Vs. 19 seems to finish up His rebuke to the Laodiceans.

Vs. 20 starts--Behold...Signaling a change in subject.

Just some thoughts

 

As Israel so the visible local church in the respect that it is a mixed multitude - Wheat and tares.

 

I did BUT I did it by Repenting of my sin and Believing in Him. I don't know if that would qualify as asking Jesus into my heart or not lol
Nevertheless, the invite is not completely biblical for people aren't saved by asking Jesus into their life but by entering into His life. How does one enter into His life? By repentance and faith in the work of Jesus.

 

I responded to his several invitations (some implied)... come unto me, He that believe on me...Believest thou?,I stand at the door and knock...

 

Regardless, we should preach the way Jesus preached. He never stood in front of the crowd saying, "Who wants to ask me into their heart?"....Did He ever do that? No.
Instead, he asked people to believe in him and to repent for the kingdom of heaven was at hand.

 

Luke 11

13“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

Calvinist answer? ZERO.

 

It was a general statement--the Gospel elicits a response.
