http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/08/17/iran-calls-israel-existence-insult-to-all-humanity/ I have a strange feeling about this.
Iran calls Israel's existence an 'insult,'

I read the link...what about these words coming from Iran do you have a strange feeling about?

Israel is currently passing out gas masks to everyone in the country. They don't do that for no reason.

The other factor in this is Israel taking out Iran's nuclear sites. This has been an issue for quite a while. Israel is perfectly capable of doing this plus pretty much destroying the country. They certainly have no hesitency in carrying it out if they think an attack is imminent. There is no second guessing and delay like we are so famous for.
The leadership of Iran is not real bright, they do not care about their citizens, or both. If I knew I had an enemy that could wipe me out, I believe I would maintain a low profile and keep my mouth shut. For sure, if I was going to attack Israel, I would not be announcing it to the newspapers.
Jedi, I do not know why, but my gut feeling about this time is different than the times before. Hope we are wrong. -
Wondering if this will result in the peace treaty being formed by th AC. I always thought the treaty would just be normal negotiations that have been taking place for years and never seriously considered it could be the result of strategic military action.
Irans leaders know what they are doing. Ahm-a-nutjob believes he can hasten the appearing of the 12th and final Imam who fits the description of the AC to a "t". -

I hope that the hawkish Israeli government will exercise restraint. There are many innocent people in Iran who suffer under the iron fist of their government. If war ensues, I suspect millions will die needlessly.

Personally, I believe that Israel has been convinced to wait for a sacrificial offering to be made e.g. several thousands killed by an Iranian missile attack of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem or some other densely populated site - non-nuclear - I don't believe that even the Iranian government is stupid enough at this time in history (non-calphate, no Sultan) to let Ahmadinejad influence them to nuke Israel.
IMO, random palestinian rockets from the Gaza Strip is not "weighty" enough for Israel to turn Iran into a sea of glass.
In another vein, I think that Iran's nuclear development is primarily (at this time) for use against other muslim nations as Iran wants to be the head of the Islamic Caliphate and an ayatollah as Sultan.
Judging from history, that probably can't happen without a bloodbath.
The talk about destroying Israel (which ulimately is what they want) is a temporary smoke screen to calm the other muslim "bees".
First things first.

Which brings up a moral question. Is it acceptable to do pre-emptive, targeted assassination of the heads of state because they may pose a future threat? -

Republicans have been calling Russia "evil" for 50 years but it hasn't stopped Russia. I think our "enemies" have a deal to take turns calling each other "evil" so that every country will support their military industrial complex.

However, the moral question was in regard to assassination of a political leader, not about Jesus willingly dying to redeem souls. I don't think Iran's leadership is anything at all like Christ. -

On the other hand, I DO see a connection between what morals a Christian should have in light of scripture and whether or not it is just for a nation to penetrate the borders of another sovereign state to kill its leadership in hopes of effecting either regime change and/or a change in the foreign policies of that nation.
