I don't think so. I wouldn't give two cents for anything that Ahmadinejad says. I figured that the Dispensationalists would get a kick out of this article. :flower:
Iran to Nuke Israel on August 22?
by Robert Spencer
Posted Jul 26, 2006
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has frustrated Western officials by refusing to reply to their offer of various incentives in exchange for Iran’s discarding its nuclear programuntil August 22. The Western governments had asked Ahmadinejad to reply by June 29; why would Tehran need two extra months?

No kick here, because I know it won't happen. OTOH, the Bible clearly tells what will happen to Iran (Persia) in Ezekial 38 & 39 and Damascus (Syria) in Isaiah 17.
All but 1/6th of Iran will be destroyed and Damascus will "be a ruinous heap."
Isa.17
[1] The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
They ought to read the Bible instead of the Quran. They might learn a thing or three. -
Don't hold your breath. This is America's concern is a first strike from Iran, which will unleash Israel to use their tactical nukes. Just because nukes are used certainly doesn't mean that the country is destroyed.
These nukes are about 20KT tactical nukes and without good guidance will do lots of damage, but leave Israel is a position to retaliate. With 60 million people in Iran and only 6 million in Israel--Israel will have a lot of decisions to make on what, exactly, they want to nuke and my guess would be the reactors.
Do NOT be suprised if Iran and Israel get into an exchange such as this, it is very possible and logistically feasible. -

Ken is correct. God will remain at his seat, in Heaven, and it will be Christ who descends, to defeat Israel's enemies, and rule with the rod of iron.
All Israel has to do is ask. -

Zech.14
[1] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
[3] Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
[4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
[6] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
[7] But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
[8] And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
[9] And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
[10] All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
[11] And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
[12] And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

It's all a matter of intepretation, LE, and on that score you and I just don't jive. Fortunately, our disagreements are irrelevant to salvation. :)

Well, Ken, I already know that.
I'm posting these verses for people who might be lurking on the board who might be interested to see what the Bible says about End Time Prophecy. When one studies the Bible from a literal interpretation instead of allegorical, the last verse above, in particular, reminds me of the effects of a hydrogen bomb. The time frame is when Jesus comes back to fight for Israel, splitting the Mount of Olives in two - a future event. -

Nothing like a good fictional read.........although I prefer a good text on history and even biblical interpretation not associated with Clarence Larkin or C.I. Scofield.

Only if they have them; can get them there; and give the order to launch. -

If you take the events outlined and described there and compare them to passages like Matthew 24:15-31, Revelation 19:11-19, and maybe even Ezekiel 38 and 39 you get a picture of the events that occur when Jesus returns. Part of what happens is that there is a massive war in the middle east against Jerusalem. At that time the Lord comes to the Mount of Olives and, according to Scripture, fights against those nations that have come against Israel.
Are the current events leading us to that time of tribulation and the battle of Armageddon? I don't know. Jesus warned us not to try to guess the day or hour but to always be ready, mainly when these things start to take place (Mk 13:35-37, Matt 24:36, Lk 21:28,31, Acts 1:6-7, etc). However it certainly looks like everything is falling into place. I don't know how long we have until Jesus comes but I do know one thing for sure is that when He comes "the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle".
But you know what Ken? You don't have to agree with me. But one day I will see you in heaven and say, "I told you so" (ha, ha, ha). -

They got to figure the US'll nuke 'em back. -
What in the world do you think Zechariah means if it doesn't mean what it says? And if God meant something else, why didn't he say that instead of what he did say? -
One of these days, Larry, you premillennialists will learn that your eschatology is all wet.
