I wonder if she complained when the Republicans had the same 'tyrannical control' of Washington?
The American people have a way to deal with supposed tyranny in November. Let's see that they do.
Is it really tyranny when one branch of the Republicrates is in control. The tyranny comes in the truth that the two major parties have passed so much legislation to keep minor parties out. How, if that us her case I would agree. -

Did she protest the telephone taps were expanded?
Did she protest when the law setting up secret courts was established and people can be detained without a warrant, not told who accused them and not allowed communication with their families?
Where were those who call themselves conservatives on this board at that time and why, if they are conservative or libertarian do they still not acknowledge the violation of the Constitution and people's civil rights by the Bush admin.?
-
And why does Crabby always feel required interject with an off-topic Bush bash?
-
There is no tyranny, now or then. Eventually the people tired of the GOP controlling every aspect of the national government and turned them out. If they really feel like they are being ruled by tyrants now they have a chance to fix it starting in November. -
And where is Crabby's protest to Obama's continuing of the very things that he criticizes Bush for in this very thread?
Obama didn't pull back on wiretaps any of the rest of Crabby's laundry list.
But Crabby would rather harp on Bush and the past rather than admitting that Obama is an even larger violator of our rights. -

I was on disagreeing with the OP premise ... but pointing out it was not begun under this admin. Why did you not protest then? -
I said that Obama did not pull back on what Bush did.
So obviously Bush did it first.
Do you approve of what Obama is doing that is no different than what Bush did?
Please provide some examples of what Obama is doing that you disagree with. -

I am not a slave to any party .... as some seem to be. I oppose any policy by any president that takes away our rights. It seems to be a loosing battle and this slippery slope really became steep under Bush. I am not sure who was the 'brain' behind the Bush policies ... but he was president and as H. Truman's sign said, "The Buck Stops Here."
I do not believe McCain would have been any better in protecting our rights. And S. Palin's attitude leads me to believe she would have been a tyrant if given the chance.
Who do I really like at the moment? No one that is on the horizon.
Busy day ahead, so I won't be back to check the board today.

Responding with whether these folks complained about Bush is irrelavant. It doesn't deal with the facts: whether or not THIS administration is becoming too tyrannical. I believe it is.
This administration does not appear to believe that it derives its authority from those it governs, nor do they see themselves as public servants.
In that article she said:
This is how she addressed the Bush administration. Whether she is right or not about the Bush admin, she is right about the current administration. They are not listening to the people. -

I think it is obvious that Crab was making a point. The point is that the Bush administration was guilty of pushing things that way as well. I didn't vote for Obama and don't care for many of his policies, but lets not pretend that this is a one way street at this point.
And, as Christians, I don't know why we worry so much about it. The U.S. is an earthly kingdom. We serve a higher throne. That's where our allegiance lies. -
I agree with the idea that under our form of government, the people end up with a leadership that is reflective of themselves. Obama is a foolish man, but it was fools who put him where he is.
The United States is a nation of law, governed by our Constitution. Those in office swear an oath to uphold that document. Whether the people vote for someone who is tyrannical or not, if that elected servant doesn't uphold the constitution of the United States, then that government is a tyranny.
Our founding documents provide the greatest amount of civil freedom known to mankind. I am not aware of anything like it. But I see this adminstration and others in the past, overstepping their authority outlined in the constitution. -

Many of us have been very vocal and very consistent critics of Bush, as well, and, frankly, I resent this game you people play where we have to "earn" the right to criticize Mao-Bama by first criticizing Bush ad infinitem, ad nauseum, while you all get to pretend that Emperor Obama has never done anything wrong.
I never will forget the way liberal bias showed during one of the Bush/Kerry debates.
During a period of one on one questioning, the moderator asked Bush "What do you think your biggest failure has been?" But then, asked precisely the opposite of Sen. Kerry (D-North Vietnam) when he asked Kerry "Which of your accomplishments are you most proud of?"
It's no different here. Anytime we dare to disagree with your messiah, all we hear is "Well, Bush did this" and "Bush did that" and "Why don't you ever criticize Bush". We did criticize Bush. For Eight years, we criticized Bush on everything from his inattention, to his bungling foreign relations, to his spending, to his failure to protect the border, to his failure to fix the healthcare systme that eventually led to Mao-Bama's takeover of health insurance, to the failure to protect our borders, to his gross incompetence in executing the war in Iraq.
Meanwhile, not a word out of the left about Obama.
Newsflash, folks: Bush has been out of office for eighteen months. It's time to look at Mao-Bama's administration and hold them accountable and responsible for their own actions and policies.

To respond to the thread, how can this happen when the US holds a Congressional Revolution every two years?

On the subject of how we should conduct ourselves in an earthly kingdom, I submit Jeremiah 29:7 - "And seek the peace of hte city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace."
While I would say that we shouldn't worry too much about an earthly kingdom, we should desire peace in that kingdom and, where godly principles of government exist, we should desire their continuance.
