In another thread he is trying to hijack, Salamander makes this statement:
Is therer any Scripture verse that tells us God is settled on a particular English translation? Is there any Scripture verse that even remotely suggests God is settled on a particular English translation?
Where is the harm in accepting the truth that the modern Bible translations are just as much the word of God as the various KJVs?
Sal, if, as you claim. God is settled on one particular English Bible translation, why don't you tell us which KJV is the one settled on by God?
Maybe it's one version per millennium. The 1611 KJV for the last millennium and the Vulgate for the prior millennium. The one version for this millennium probably hasn't been published yet - after all, this millennium only started a few years ago and we have nearly a thousand years to go.
It all has to do with the harmony found within the translation.
Oh, that's right, yall would rather have dis-harmony!:tongue3:
And just because i entered into this discussion does not merit the KJVO vs MV arguement, except the same old TRASHING of anyone who holds to the KJB!
Sal, you're the one who claimed God is settled on a particular English version. Which version is it God is settled on? And where is the Scripture to back up your assertion?
Seems to me there is a verse that goes something like, "Be ye kind, one to another."
Well, as languages change as time goes by I doubt there is one version that is the version.
It is the height of arrogance to believe THE verion would be in English. If English is the langauge than why wasn't Christ born in a different era in an English speaking country?
Then when you were confronted and asked to prove your assertion with Scripture, you turned and ran like a scared puppy and said this:
DUH!!! Make up your mind, Sal. Is God settled on one particular English Bible translation or isn't He? It can't be both ways. It was you who made the dishonest suggestion, Sal. Are you finally admitting your mind is depraved?
Sal, if you think for one minute that God, who is all-knowing, can be deceived, then you're in a worse position than I thought.
Sal, if God knows all things as Scripture tells us, then why would you think He can be deceived? The thought that God can be deceived is, IMHO, absolutely moronic and anti-scriptural.
Sal, the discord and the disharmony are created and sewn by those who falsely claim there is only one true translation of God's word in English. It's KJVOs like you who obviously prefer disharmony.
BTW, Sal, I've never seen anyone "trash" someone who prefers one of the KJVs. But there are many of us who stand firmly against those who become their own final authority and declare one particular English Bible translation is the ONLY word of God. Do you see the difference, Sal, or are you still confused?
In my opinion God left us with the original Hebrew and Greek, what we choose to do with them is up to us.
I do believe that anyone who intentionally alters what God left us with will be severly judged for it.
