Every Republican senator who voted against raising the minimum wage are scheduled to receive a $2,800.00 raise in January if they are still in office. What are the chances they will vote to forgo the raise?
Is this being hypocritical?

One has nothing to do with the other. However, given the economy and its difficulties I would say all of them on both sides of the fence need to vote down a raise.

Minimum wage is all about politics. It helps almost no one.
Voting down a pay raise for Congress is all about politics. If they can pass it and no one notices, they will. If they get caught with their hand in the cash register, they won't.
Doesn't matter much either way.
Hypocritical? Probably. But not for the reason you stated. As Rev said, one doesn't have anything to do with the other. That's just the way pols are. Hypocritical to a fault. -
It is automatic - UNLESS - they vote it down.
Call your congressman and ask him to vote down the COLA.
As far as a Non-Cola Pay raise - an election must pass before a pay raise can take effect.
Per the 27th amendment - proposed on 25 Sep 1789 and ratified 7 May 1992. -

Maybe there should be a sliding pay scale. Say a Senator whose net worth is 100 million or more serves with no pay. A Senator with a net worth of a paltry 5 million would have a salary of 150,000. The more a Senator's net worth the less they receive in salary.
What do you think? After all they claim to be public servants. -

I also agree with Mark Twain:
...I never can think of Judas Iscariot without losing my temper. To my mind Judas Iscariot was nothing but a low, mean, premature, Congressman.

Is this hypocritical for those who voted against raising the minimum wage? -
Just what senator, representative, or anyone in the executive or judicial branch, that calls for raising the minimum wage wants it raised to what they are making? If they don't, ain't it hypocrisy? -
Try to keep up.
It's your thread. The least you could do is read it. -

Oh, and CtB, you must not forget, that your man in the WH is also getting raises, taking expensive vacations and trips to raise money for the DNC, and this during a time when we are supposed to be conserving fuel; and cutting down on ait pollutions!
The entire group is hypocritical, but then again, so were the Romans. No one cares for the little man, the tax paying citizen, other than how they can squeeze another penny, nickle or dime from their pocket, while they linger away in the plush decor of their offices far away from reality! :tonofbricks: -

What the Democrats want is that the federal government hold a gun to the business owner's head and dictate to that person how much he must pay his employees. The Democrats want to run the entire country at the point of a federal gun.

Here is the thing about the minimum wage:
It does NOT prohibit the employer from paying more.
Therefore - as (somewhat) asked in the OP :
voted against raising the minimum wage - Is this being hypocritical?
The answer is NO
